Is there a summary of the different options?

    Afaik there's:

    Brembo, $3400
    Stoptech, $2000-$3500 depending on options
911 big reds, 550 rotors, cnc bracket, $2000(dansk)-$2850(brembo)
355 challenge/ f40 (same?) ~$30k if you can find them

Do they all fit stock wheels? Challenge wheels? How about rears?

There are levels to the brembo options. Can go as high as $8k.

According to my buddy who used to work at Brembo and is now a race team consultant for brakes, the new high end Brembo stuff will work much better than the 355 challenge brakes.

Some nice brakes for sure. Had no issues with the Challenge brakes but I'm an old bike racer I dont use brakes too hard.

I might actually be interested in selling my big reds/oem 550 setup. On the hunt for something bigger, like 355mm.
Its plug and play, about 2000 miles or so.

Sure but its not "original" and that's important for a lot of Ferrari owners. Also the Challenge and F40 brakes retain a lot of value, if not continue to increase, but yeah 30k is a lot, unless its an F40 restoration.

Most people can’t find the challenge brakes or at least a complete enough set, so I figured I’d say this is the next best thing. You also get to stick with the Brembo brand. Good enough for an F40, good enough for me. One can always go back to the stock brakes for originality.

Very rarely are bigger brakes needed for street cars. They are purchased and installed for looks which really is no different than people putting cross drilled rotors on their cars.

Actually, I'd let these brake calipers and brackets go for $1500+shipping, below what I paid. I decided to get the Brembo 355 big brake kit for all 4 wheels at a cost over $7k :( so I won't need these. Thx, Judd

    judd,

Are these brackets so you can put 550 calipers on the 355 spindles? I lost track of this thread.

Quick question - my mechanic noted the tight fit between the caliper and back side of the front wheel. I'm thinking that I might need spacers there, but want it to look stock. Any suggestions for like 2mm spacers? Can I just use my stock wheel bolts? Thx!

You want # turns equal to diameter of bolt as absolute minimum. I calculated it once long time ago it was like 8 turns. But check with math because I'm old and have forgotten lots of stuff.

If it clears it clears. Can you comment on the weight between the two setup? How much the new caliper and rotor weigh?
