Amex had a free 3-week trial deal on Home Chef. I have to say their recipes are tasty and pretty ingenious in their efficiency. And very fresh ingredients too. The free 3 week trial was great (we got 3-4 meals each week). Going forward it looks like it would be $70 per week for 3 pretty high quality meals (say scallops and pasta, and a chicken and an ahi for example). So its "not bad" value (sorta between a restaurant and true home sourced/cooked). We will likely keep doing it here and there. Here are several meals we cooked at home from their meal kits: Mahi Mahi with a caper butter sauce and fried artichoke hearts Image Unavailable, Please Login Chicken with crispy beets and almonds over risotto Image Unavailable, Please Login Chicken with hazelnut cream sauce Image Unavailable, Please Login Parmesan Crusted Chicken with mushrooms Image Unavailable, Please Login Crusted Ahi with a garlic cream sauce Image Unavailable, Please Login
We have done a little cooking of our own recipes, of course returning to our long-time favorite for our first cooked-together-after-wedding meal (its been posted here many times before)... Risotto with mint and pea puree and seared scallops. These were the biggest scallops I've had anywhere, the local market in Jackson Hole had them (now a Whole Grocer sadly). We love making this dish...I cooked the scallops in our cast iron for the first time and the crust was far and away the best I've yet accomplished. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Last one to catch up, last night was the last of the Indian Jeera Rice and I grilled a costco prime "rib eye cap", along with some roasted brussel sprouts tossed in garlic salt, red pepper and maple syrup. I was too lazy to start the grill or the smoker, so I just seared the rib eye cap in the cast iron pan. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations - If I may, I'd like to propose (to) a toast; May the road you travel be free of idiots. Salud! Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Lot's of restaurants out this way. Too many Japanese. Did my usual tuna and salmon sashimi with rolls (chopped scallop and can't remember the name)
Oh man! That makes my day AzIt! Congrats to you guys. I wish you guys nothing but the best. By the way, I think there's a national lab in Idaho Falls. So, probably some folks from the subcontinent on the staff. Could be the reason for the good Indian grub? Again, best wishes to you and Ania!! T

I drove by a Canadian pizza franchise called Pizza Pizza. I used to get Calzones there when living in Toronto. Haven't been since 02. Think I'll get one for dinner tonight.
Dang, if that rib eye were any bigger it could be the basis for a chicken fired steak @ some mom and pop diner in the Panhandle! T
The pizza place decided to skip it until the weekend. My twelve year old nephew is spending spring break at my house. So I'll feed him that on the weekend. Did Japanese again, was going to get seafood yaka soba. Cooked dish and some rolls. Decided to get assorted sashimi instead and rolls. The sashimi was tuna, salmon and a few pieces of fish that I have no clue what it was.
As tradition dictates, first evening in Saint Denis (a little inside sorry) yields Napoleon House for a Sazerac, Boudin, and a Gator PoBoy for me, and a Muffalata for her. Also a Dark & Stormy cause we're walking everywhere and it's vacation. Totally jealous! I've not tried their muffaleta. Usually we go to Central Grocery and order their giant size and feast for days. T
Gotta start off properly. It's really tasty and of course enormous so theres plenty for lunches later on Commanders, Muriels, and Brennan's are on the short list as well.
This may be one toke over the line, sweet Jesus (music reference, ask your parents! ). Serrano pepper and peach pizza. Now that's living dangerously! Serrano pepper pizza straight outta the oven. Wish I had pulled it a few mins earlier, but the pooch needed to go out. Image Unavailable, Please Login T
I have a Costco chicken pot pie that needs to be cooked today............................. Living dangerously is what I do. Last nights Japanese was at another new to me place. The mystery fish was excellent, I'm returning there tomorrow. Have my brother and nephew coming tomorrow, so on the way home from picking them up at the ferry. I'll stop for sushi. This brother and my nephew love sushi. My brothers best friend since kindergarten (1975) is Japanese. We started eating it back in the 1970's, before it was popular. The restaurant we went back then is still in business and one of my favorites.
I honestly don't think I'd have ever thought of that combo. But honestly it looks amazing and I almost hate to admit actually sounds pretty good. I made swedish meatballs a couple days ago. Served over riced cauliflower. Got tired of eating them after a couple days and threw together almost Zuppa Toscana. No potatoes, I barely had any cream left from making the meatballs, and I forgot to add the chopped kale at the end. Still pretty tasty soup though. I made a big ole pot though, gonna get tired of that pretty soon too. Finally opening places back up here so going to out with some friends this Sunday to a local seafood place. Hope they have some good stuff on the menu!!
Made a patty melt with ground turkey. Yummy! Butter, butter and more butter in the recipe tho...we added sliced pickles, which I wouldn’t do again. Image Unavailable, Please Login
