There are times when you want to evacuate every bit of coolant from the system. I typically read accounts of those who drain and refill two or three times. Is it possible to use a pressure tester to force coolant from the expansion tank to the drain(s)? Specifically for a 360?

I read , never tried it, if you open drain on radiators and force 20 ibs of pressure thru coolant tank you can get out 90% of the coolant

I just look at diagram of coolant system

    Correction to above

There is an elbow right below engine that go to front radiators ..one of those should be removed and then blow air into coolant tank

I don't recall who h side passenger or drivers .. if i had to guess i would say driver

Do you think that elbow would cause a blockage?

No ..the flow would be from coolant to radiators back thru hose and most of the fluid should be out

    No drain cocks open

If you just drain from radiator the air may find its way out before clearing all tubes

I believe this is a fuel drain.

Flushing the system several times with distilled water is not such a big issue. Just keep track of how much coolant you managed to drain out in order to evaluate how much is still in. Assuming just removed 2/3 of the volume, after four flush, 99% of the coolant is gone.

The only issue is to let the engine rest for a while between each flush as you must not refill your hot engine with cold liquid.

Best approach though is distilled water + water wetter in summer, coolant in winter. In other words you flush twice per year, so you perform the above mentioned 4 flushes over a 2 years period.

Maybe not, but doing it once is better.

I always disconnect the hoses that connect to the long pipes under the car. It is the lowest point in the cooling system. I also remove the block drain plug on the left side. Be prepared to get wet. That will drain most of the coolant. You can also drain the radiators, but what remains there is a pretty small amount.
