I have been on here since picking up a 550 in summer, but never did a proper intro. Time I put that right. My name is Matt and I live near Cambridge in the UK. I started out on BMW M Cars but have since diversified..... here is the full collection:

thanks to the great resource on here i have done a few jobs:

replaced the knackered fuse board, and the new sticker gave that area a real lift.....

re-installed the OEM stereo that the previous owner gave me, and i managed to install a DAB radio and MP3 input via the CD changer:

Had the doorcards off to investigate various issues (Gianni did mine in 1997)

Car has also had all oils, coolant, new T-Stat. I think it needs a new oil pressure sender. the visors are currently with Dave in California being fixed. The drivers window mechanism will need rebuilding but i will wait until the car is off the road next winter.

So in summary it has the usual niggles one expects with a 20 some year old supercar, but I love its style, panache and use-ability. Engine feels strong, oil stays looking clean and it doesn't seem to use much at all - touch wood.

I am delighted with the car

Nice collection and 550. Your garages reminded me of the one I had for my 308 GTS in Bury St Edmunds. Narrower than your garages, I had foam on the wall so I could open the door and sort of fall out. At one point had a Scirocco, Fiat Dino 2400 GT, and 308 GTS. Neighbors thought we were crazy.

    Thanks all. A few responses:
    - yes, not enough garage space and it is too narrow. I have a carpet tile on the wall where the 550 door opens.
    - And yes - it is a Celica GT4 WRC (one of the true homologation cars). Here's some more pics:

Congratulations! Loving the collection, the 4wd Celica has always been a stealthy pocket rocket. Those wheels suit it perfect. Miss my E34 dearly, what engine is yours?

realised I missed a reply. E34 is a 3.8 - more power, better ignition and EDC made it way better than the 3.6....

Thanks to Dave, my sunvisors are no longer floppy, and got the adhesive marks off from the crappy velcro tape today - this picture shows the LHS after application of GooGone and the RHS before....

not immaculate, but looks OEM and good enough for now.

Recommend Dave's fix on the mechanism......(you can search for the relevant thread)

    some odds and ends....

car failed its MOT on a non functional front turn signal - thanks to Qavions wonderful woring diagrams I traced the issue to a poor connection with the blue connector at the fusebox - i think that terminal had come loose on the harness.
Image Unavailable, Please Login 20210614_190841 by MattH3764, on Flickr

while the car was out, i reattached the passenger door card following months of investigation as to why the door wouldn't close (shimming out the striker fixed it)

it is quite satisfying to clean them while they are off the car....

I found it so satisfying the way Ferrari put these door panels together. I'm used to German cars whose door panels are stuck together with glue and plastic push clips which always break and can never get the panels back on like new. Ferrari made everything fit with slide in parts and screws, you can take then apart 10 times and they will always fit back perfectly as from the factory.
