I don't understand the philosophy from Michelin

305 without K spec all the time, only the 315 SS and PS4 with K spec.

Now they cancelled the 245 K spec ???
Do they want that people buy the Pirellis ?

The correct size (or one size up) Michelins without the K spec will work fine.

So best option is PS4S in original size 245/305 or 255/315 ?

Daniel- Since you are going with 315/35 20 for the rears, one size up or 255/35 20 will most closely match the OEM front to rear size differential. But either will work and not give ABS problems.

Exactly correct and it is what is on my car today. The MPSS that are on now are done so I just ordered these sizes in the 4S from TireRack. Ordered the TPMS as well. They called to confirm since it isn't "stock size" but they are in stock and on their way.

Fascinating thread. Just as a data point, I have a 2010 HGTE and I have the MPS4S sizes: 245/35ZR20 (Front) and 305/35ZR20 (Rear) and they were installed by the Ferrari dealer. I'm looking through this thread now in more detail, but anyone know if the load rating of my new front tires are up to spec?

Hawkeye- You timed it just right since they just introduced the 305/35 20s for the rears. Earlier, only 315/35 20s were available. Your front tires have a max load rating of 1521 lbs each, well above the less than1000 lbs each they actually carry. Even under heavy braking, you will still be good. No driving her off ski jumps, though.

After a visit back to topic, just noticed this, sorry.

As an answer, never installed both as I decided not to track my car. PM me if you want to know more.

Forget the K soec. It's not a sign of better quality, a "Ferrari compound", or anything else. Each K spec variant is model specific. Just because it says K, does it not equate proper spec for every Ferrari. The MOSS 315 K1 and K2 are great examples of this. The K1 was specifically develoked for the GTO, a d it was developed to work with the 285/30R20 front. The K2 was developed for the F12, and in conjunction with the 255/35R20 K2. The K1 variant is very different. It was develooed for dry weather and so e tracking. It is shaved, it is softer, it has less wet weather grooving etc. If you mix this with a 255 front, you may end up with a poorly balanced set up.
Going with the MPS4S K1 has its challenges. It was developed for the 812 in conjunction with the 275/35R20 K1. Mixing it with the 255/35R20 K1 SF90 tyre may work, but possibly not. There is a version of the 315/35R20 MPS4S which is not OE specific, and that is a better choice to use with a non OE specific 255/35R20 front.

Simply put, try and get a matched set. When the 305/35R20 becomes available again, the best match is more than likely the 245/35R20 non K variant, rather than the K1 for the Lusso or the K2 for the Porto.

I need new tires also as the Pirellis on my car are quite old and hard.
Checking tire rack, they show the Michelin PS4S in the OEM sizes for the GTB (245/35/20 and 305/35/20) as both in stock. I don't see anything about "K1" or "K2" nomenclature anywhere..... Would these be correct? I would much prefer Michelins over Pirellis.....haven't tried the PS4S but did like the old PSS tires I had on several cars.

The 305/35R20 does not come with a K on them, however, the 245/35R20 does. But use the non K 245/35R20 in the front. Like I said, K means nothing in this regard. There's no reason to select a tyre because it has,a,K on it. Quality is the same, and the K tyres are model specific. What works on a Porto may not work on a 599, especially if you don't have the matching rear.
