Damn! How far Jimmy G has fallen! From dating porn stars to having Ace consider Kirk Cousins an upgrade! LOL!

Actually Tom, I was never a fan of Jimmy G even from the moment SF signed. You may not recall, but back at that time I was bashing him and Whisky disagreed with me and was saying that I don't like him. Whisky is right, I do not like Jimmy G. As I said before, Jimmy G scores more off the field with porn stars than he does on the field with TDs.

It's the same ignorance that makes Kirk Cousins consistently overpaid.

AceMaster pining for the "Emperor of Garbage Time"? :D

"Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings: 65 garbage-time attempts

Kirk Cousins is the Emperor of Garbage Time. The Minnesota Vikings QB completed 73.8% of his passes for a league-high 7 touchdowns when trailing by 16-plus points last year. You would expect nothing less. One cannot become THE Kirk Cousins without the gift of being able to throw a touchdown just before the two-minute warning of a 52-33 loss (Week 16 vs. the Saints).

Over the last three seasons, Kirk Cousins has completed a whopping 75.6% of his garbage-time passes for 13 touchdowns. It’s almost as if the Minnesota Vikings QB sees a prevent defense at the end of a loss, rubs his palms together eagerly, and proclaims, “Time to make my money!”

Somehow, Cousins’ employers are always fooled by the statistical padding and sign up for another overpriced tour of duty."

The difference being all those teams would love to have Wilson, while those lovely ladies - great choices by the way! - are likely not waiting by the phone for your call! :D Of course, if they have a fetish for V-12 Ferrari, you might have a shot Paul!

    Still, it doesn't matter.
How do you rate a QB that throws for 5,000 yards and 20 TD's vs a QB that throws for 2,500 yards and 40 TD's, one was 12-4, one was 4-12? (hypothetical question)
You can call me ignorant all you want, but the FACTS are, stats are stats, and nobody will remember, know or care in 5, 10, 20 years.

'Ignorance' didn't overpay Cousins - 'idiots' did - or did they?
BTW, Cousins was 8th in yards and 6th in TD's, 10th in QB rating among legit starting QB's, he's not pretty, but he's serviceable. (and 5th highest in picks)

Cousins won one playoff game. The rest of your post is dribble.

    Fact.

And I would be the first to say all of that.

I've said for years his stats come against losing teams, and he never comes up big (except once in a playoff game vs the Saints last year, but for $84 million he better have).

And, how long did it take him to win his first Monday night game?

I agree up to a point, but I think barring some major turn in fortune in his playoff career going forward, Cousins will be remembered as a good QB but certainly not among the greats of his generation. Not serious HoF material. Matthew Stafford too, although he has a good chance to rectify that in LA...T

You guys know football better than me, but I think the story on Cousins is written. Haven't the Viking shot their wad on a Super Bowl quest, and now are in rebuilding mode? Somehow the sportswriters have concluded 1) it looks like a 9-7 season in '21, and 2) if that doesn't get them in the playoffs, Zimmer is gone. There's a big decision date for the Vikings re Cousins coming up...if they keep him, he's locked in through '22. It's just not a story that has much upside for Cousins, IMO.

Agreed though it is intriguing to consider Cousins reuniting with Shanahan on a playoff ready Niners squad in 2021

Agreed. Stafford is superior talentwise to Cousins. He played on so many bad Lions teams. The Rams obviously feel they are a SB ready squad with Stafford to pay Detroit a king's ransom. Wentz is clearly not in the same category based on NFL management decisions. Media talked about Carr being worth 2 first rounders. If that was the truth, Vegas would have traded him by now.

I was hoping for Matt Ryan or Watson. Ryan had his best years with Shanon as OC.

I posed a hypothetical question you called 'dribble - thanks for the insult - but as I said - it was a hypothetical question, not a fact-based one.

Cousins will go down as a 'game manager', kinda like Case Keenum was, Alex Smith is, Rivers was, he's
no superstar QB and we all know that.
In today's money, 84 mill buys you 'average'. He's no Aaron Rodgers, but I don't think he's trying to be one.

Well, if I can get enough of you guys to play, I can run a Fantasy League this fall and designate TWO starting QB's if you like,
but there is no provision to swap one during the game.

    Totally agree with you.

The NFC North gets the NFC South and AFC North this season, so... if Chicago gets a decent QB, or improves what they have team-wise,
I see Minn as a 6-10 to 4-12 team. It all depends on the health of Dalvin Cook and Adam Thielen.
