Why do you think they’re dumb? I think it’s a shame BMW didn’t continue to develop them. A series II version could have been great. If you think of them as a GT rather than a sports / super car I reckon they’d be fine.
They're not electric even though most people think they are. They're very difficult to get in and out of.
I think the biggest problem was they paired the electric motor with a 3 cylinder engine. I mean, what sort of poxy car has a three-cylinder engine?....
The engine is another issue. It's a weird car that could have been awesome. Carbon fibre like the i3 too I think.
Not shore re CF but you may be right. Remembering it came out seven years ago, it's a great looking GT car that does 0-100kmh in 4.4sec, gets 2.1l / 100km, handles pretty well, and has an all electric range of re 50km (post 2018). It even has two 911 style rear seats. What's not to like? (Anyone whom mentions the word Tesla at this point will be reported to the mods....) But I do think it's a real shame they didn't continue to develop it. It could have been something pretty special.

As usual with Porsche (with a couple of exceptions), they have taken something pretty good and made it look utterly awful. That thing looks like a stretched version of the new Supra - which is horrific. The first company that builds a car like that and actually makes it look good will be on to a winner.
Car looks better in person than in the photos, I think the white is OK as bright colours ( red/ yellow) would make a big car appear even bigger. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I’ll have to wait to see one in the flesh. But it really isn’t a beauty. Why can’t a manufacturer - any manufacturer - make a truly good looking electric car?
There are a lot of ugly cars around, not just EV's I think they intentionally want their cars to look different because they want to highlight that they are EV's. The people who are buying EV's currenlty still fall in to the category of "early adopter" and that sort of consumer is looking to make a statement with their purchase, so a different look actually appeals to that market.
