    With the Battery against the front wheel on my 355, is there an easy way to recharge the battery without taking the wheel off?
    Thank you;

    If you cannot find the instructions in your owners manual there are probably also threads in the 355 section pointing out the studs in the engine bay for charging

    Recharge it by using the connections in the enginebay?

    On the right hand side of the engine bay, lift the plastic cover with the red "+" on it and attach the postive lead of your charger. All the terminals there are positive.

    Sorry, don't know whose photo this is (I borrowed it a while ago)

    Put the negative lead of your charger on a suitable point on the chassis. I seem to recall an earth stud near the plastic box.

    Make sure your battery cutout switch isn't in cutout. Turn on your charger.

    You can plug the charger lead (assuming it has a corresponding connector) into the lighter receptacle in the center console (I don't like this way but it is possible).

    Or wire a set of charger leads to the battery terminals and keep the plug-end of the lead under the front hood. This is what I do, I keep the charger leads under the CD cover.

    Ian,

    As a point of interest, the F355 Challenge has an Auxiliary Connector to enable quick access for charging without having to remove the cover panel...

    Or how about a battery relocation to move the weight from the front tip? I thought about hiding a lithium battery in a Schedoni case.

    Sounds like a good idea until you go out to your car one morning (yesterday) and find this and the battery dead:

    Then you pull the battery out and spend three hours cleaning up the acid. My battery exploded. It spent its 95% of its 6 year life on a battery tender which is built to support lead acid, AGM and Lithium batteries.

    Any other placement in a vehicle would have been an unmitigated disaster for the interior. Ferrari got this location right even if it is a pain to get to.

    On a Scud, the battery is inside the passenger foot compartment.

    For a battery tender, I ran a set of ring mounts to the battery with the pig tail connector, and up into the trunk through the opening on the passenger side with the two thumb screws. Then I just popped the hood to connect up. But I also used a cigarette lighter adapter and charged through that too...very easy. Just make sure your battery tender is no more than 4 amps, so you don't risk damaging anything.

    And has a factory charging port for a battery tender under the passenger dash. AND when using the factory charging port, you have an automatic starter disconnect to prevent driving off while connected.
