It all started when I found a GREAT deal on three custom built stainless steel Krieger match grade barrels.

    https://kriegerbarrels.com/about

16" M4 profile Carbine length gas system.... not an awkward and heavy 20" bull barrel. 1/7 twist.
These are well over $600 barrels and no longer available. Kreiger barrels are single point cut which takes .0001 material per pass. You read right; .0001 ! This reduces any heat or mechanical stress when cutting the rifleing.
Then each barrel is hand lapped ( internally finished ).
BTW all their AR15 barrels are sold out and back ordered for how long who knows ?
Kreiger, Bartlein and Lilja barrels are the very best IMO.

Found a good deal on US made Bushmaster burnt Bronze Cerakoated matching upper and lower set with matching target style circular free float handguard. Bushmaster 6 position carbine stock assembly.
Stainless trigger, Yankee hill flash-hider, Nickle boron charging handle.

Instead of the normal phosphate bolt carrier this rifle will have a shot peened and MPI tested Nickle boron treated one with an awesome S7 steel Sharps "Reliabolt" and a titanium firing pin.
IMO this carrier group looks great with the stainless barrel, reduces internal friction, is easy to clean and corrosion resistant.

Ergo grip not the craptastic hard plastic milspec one.

To ensure the gas system operates with a variety of load ranges a Black Rain adjustable gas block was used.
Since the rifle is unfired you will have to tune it to your ammo which is pretty simple. Or I can do it if you wish.

The idea here is to have Match quality rifle in a light carbine size.

$1750 shipped to your FFL or personal transfer in the DFW area.

It looks something like this but with a shorter 16" stainless barrel, gas block inside the handguard stainless trigger and Nickle boron charging handle and bolt.
One of these days I'll figure out how to take and upload pics but for now this is a copy and paste of something similar.
I can send cameraphone pics to you.

Don't want to derail the ad, but it may be beneficial for a perspective buyer to know if it is chambered in 223 Win/5.56 NATO/Wylde, etc.. Although very similar chambers, it does affect what you can safely shot in the rifle.

Mods - if anything is wrong with my comment - please delete.

    Its 5.56 Nato.
In my experience one can shoot .223 in a 5.56 rifle and not the other way around although Colt, for example, chambers many of their ARs in .223 but obviously are made for Military rounds.

No idea why one pic posted twice, and wouldn't let me edit. Oh well! More to enjoy!

    Thanks.
I took me several months to research and assemble all the right pieces but there is still room to customize to one's taste.
The important stuff is there already.

A friend of mine is buying cheapo Durkin tactical kits and assembling them on inexpensive lowers then selling them at the guns shows for $1000. Selling like hot cakes.
If I just wanted to make $$$ thats the route I should have taken.
For grins I bought a Durkin kit years ago and it was junk IMO.

The rifle is unfired so no sights.
With this kind of barrel and a carbine build one of the 1 to 6 or 8 powered variable scopes would be perfect.
1 power for close in and high power for the long range targets that this rifle would be capable of.

Figured out how to upload from emails.

Here is an disassembled view of the rifle showing the Nickle Boron bolt carrier group and charging handle.
Stainless match barrel, adjustable gas block and titanium firing pin.

Thanks Jimpo for posting the pic which I just sent. And willrace it was educational tuning your adjustable gas block AR15’s . I had previously assumed all ARs ran the same . Nope. Tune to the lowest load . Which means to me that non adjustable Colts for example ,that run on anything , are over gassed.

Sorry about the stains on the oriental rug : it’s very old and numerous generations of pets etc have left their mark.

Sadly (and embarrassingly) ironic, because I was adjusting to a bad magazine (draggy) in the rotation that I didn't catch until cleaning. so the ARs were still overgassed!!
