I’m glad it sold, as I can now put the phone down after thinking...hmm....and I hope the next owner is loving it. I’m sure he is. But I did just want to say I love the license plate. There’s a great story about the late great Neil Peart, RIP, and a R&T article way back...I’m guessing you know it but google for a great read if not.
    What a 348....

I do know that story :)

I just recorded and filmed a tribute to Neil, and the show's producer gave me a lot of freedom in terms of material selection, etc. Red Barchetta had to be there! In the interview portion, I talk about being, umm..."inspired" with that song blasting during drives in F cars!

I'll share it once all of the parts are done. Bruce Hornsby's bass player is on it, as is a good friend of mine who is a great guitarist. Vocals TBD. I'm very happy with what we have done and in spite of my critical nature feel it is a fitting tribute to my first musical hero.

Amazing - I feel a little silly for asking if you know the story when you are clearly well on top of your car and music game!
So cool that you made a tribute and would love to see it when you share it with the world.
Best of luck wrapping it all up.

I have not yet. I went with a new Cayman T, which I think is a prefect car for me right now and a great contrast to my 575. Got a KILLER deal, too. Seems people don't want manuals in my neck of the woods...

I'll be back, one day. I do want to get a black spider or if I can find one a factory challenge or GTC.

    Yes it was.

It was a great car, not sure what became of the luggage and the original challenge wheels - their absence is a shame I think.

I don't feel the least bit bad about leaving money on the table because IMO, given the lack of service, mileage, and a few other things, I wouldn't have felt right asking anywhere near that much more...but if someone else feels it is worth more, hey, OK! I hope the new owner loves and enjoys the car. I wish they were getting it as it has been for the last twenty five years or so, but I made my decision to sell and can't really be troubled by it.

Yea these cars are like homes. They’re flip investments for some, time pieces for many others. If the car changes too much, that period specific draw it has dies down. Glad you had it for a decent amount of time.

to each their own I guess. I’m sure we could say the same about drum kits hahaha

Well...I'm swimming in drums, so that's not the best comparison for me, haha! There are things I love about each one (nine of them) and can't bring myself to get rid of anything. Hell, I have a Sonor Designer kit that I sold in 2003, really regretted it, then saw it on Reverb last year and bought it back! Best 24" kick I ever played, and the toms are just packin'...but my Gretsch kit rules the studio work at other rooms. Home studio, Tama star bubinga fits the best...on and on and on and on...I have a disease. :)

Edit - I guess more to your point, yes. I see some interesting takes on drumkits out there, especially in setup...but I'm not so good about keeping my mouth shut! "Umm...OK. So, why would you do that?" :D

Thanks, it was pretty great. Certainly a special car!

I'll definitely have another 348, but I'll be looking more in the 30K mile range, preferably not red. Probably a later car as well.
