Understeer on corner entry and then explosive oversteer as the turbos kicked in. A proper mess! A friend of mine. who owned said F40, quite the track rat himself, told me that it was nigh on impossible to get the lap time out of it. The plain 430s were easily quicker round the same track.
812 VS to be roughly 15% more than the TDF depending on options and they will make a bunch. The aperta version will be limited to 4K cars - kidding of course but I doubt they number them.
That’s good to know. I usually take limited production numbers as stated but am learning new perspectives. Thanks!
Reminds me of the 599XX. For that price you could buy 4x 458 Challenge cars which has almost identical lap time. When I hear stories like your I should buy more Ferrari shares (and fewer cars) Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
they were able to do this before they became a listed company - not sure they can do this now. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
If that’s true that explains why they are not incentivised to number cars given main objective is to make as much money as possible
I suspect being a listed company their reporting to the market is much more detailed as is the risk of litigation. Previously they didn’t have to account to anyone but I imagine that today they could face a class action suit by selling a car as 1 of 599 and manufacturing 800-900. Really I would be astonished that Ferrari takes the risk on that; being quoted in the US• can’t imagine to be fun to discuss with the SEC... Gesendet von iPad mit Tapatalk
Interesting perspective. For you its not whether you get the allocation. You pretty much will get anything you want and you can be pick and choose how much you will pay for a special model. You will not want the VS Aperta at above US$750K. This is excellent. I wish/fantasize an allocation so can't be as objective.
I’m sure the car will be amazing to drive, but I’ll never be offered one. However, I’ll be very content driving my 812SF and my 812GTS and not sweating the miles.
...... all so quiet ..... before the whirlwind this week! I’m going to get the popcorn ready..... Thursday .... apparently some on this forum will hear about details /possibly even see snippets of the car ..... im just going to eat cake and drink veuve to celebrate Enzos birthday on Thursday and any VS info/pics will just be a bonus ....
How’s this for a big mouth? Image Unavailable, Please Login The front is my best guess based on pics available though I think they may have done something along the lines of the 488 Challenge evo for a winglet along the sides of the nose. The rear is a total WAG, inspired by the rear quarters of the 275 GTB and lending itself to possible transition into rear window louvres.
I agree with this, my expectation is $600-$650k base price with actual post option prices in the $700-$800k range with some TM cars in the $900k range. The dealers of course will be "strongly suggested" to push the options list to be at least $100k. The Aperta +$100K on top.
Funnily enough 599XX was one of the best investments Ferrari has produced for folks who could buy one and wanted to be a top client. Unlike to FXX, 599XX was not oversubscribed and could be bought by folks without long histories with Ferrari and once they did they automatically jumped to the top of the line in the Ferrari client lineup. There are three members on this board alone who bought one and have been offered every car since then including the LaFerrari Aperta. It was a very similar story with the Porsche 918. Of course chances of this happening now are close to zero for a long time as manufacturers have caught on to the game and started either producing enough cars to fully sate demand or making them high enough in price to take out most of the upside or both!
