With Red Bull being their own engine manufacturer they'll achieve what to this day Mclaren still hasn't: their own chassis AND engine!
F1 would be pretty dull without Red Bull. An indpendent punk sprit that reminds me of Hesketh. They also allow team mates to battle on track, and accumulate some battle scars. Fingers crossed Perez can duke it out with Max.
I don't see making your own engine as an achievement or giving an advantage. Lotus, Brabham, Williams, McLaren, and even RBR so far, obtained all their championships outsourcing their engines. So the recipe can't be that bad !
It’s very nice of Hamilton to pay for his teammate’s seat even before he is assured of his own. The mark of a true gentleman and extremely considerate sportsmanship.
The opposite could also be true:: Max, by his very nature, is agressive and impulsive. Perez can win a bunch of races for Red Bull simpy be keeping his cool when Max loses his.
On here Red Bull and Mclaren have both been told many times they're not ''real'' teams because they don't make their own engine. Ballsy move to do it now. 2025 will be their true own F1 engine. Commendable.
Who gives a **** about what people say, eh ? Since 1958, chassis manufacturers are called constructors by the FIA, even if they outsource their engines. So more championships have been won by those "unreal" teams than by Ferrari !!
So a team deciding to make it's own engine is no good and unimpressive? Or purely because it's Red Bull?
Unless you are a big car manufacturer (or Ferrari), it doesn't make much sense for a team to have their own engine. Over the years, many teams bought/leased engines; it's cheaper, and it gave them a choice. Take McLaren that had 3 suppliers in the last 7 years for example. Having their own engines will be a gamble for RBR; what if it doesn't work?
