Mystery food! How cold is it going to get down there? They're saying snow and single digits up here. Image Unavailable, Please Login Cold weather = soup. Chicken soup with mushrooms. And F-chat beer bread. Filling and warming. T
Ribs and Pichana. I don't have a pan large enough for the ribs and wrapped them in foil so they dont thaw all over the fridge. They're saying come Monday it'll get into lows in the teens. I'm stoked. I went out side this morning at 6 just to see how it felt. Very nice.
The wife figured out baking them is easier, with similar results, compared to stove top. These came out fantastic.
Looks close to a largish Chuck Eye. We've never been disappointed. Any Chuck Eye or Flat Iron I see, I get. Doing 3 F.I.'s either tonight or tomorrow, depends on wind . . . Though rarely spotted, a Denver Steak .must.be.properly. crossgrain cut, otherwise, not worth it at all. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Crazy bastage! I've put the pooch on notice - do your business pronto over the next few days! No sniffing around for 20 min while I my cajones off. I'm anticipating a lot of soups and such over the next few days. T
Left overs............ Its cold here, currently 18f. Making turkey soup for tonight. Plan to also have grilled cheese sandwiches.
Hope you don't have to wait on line outside in those temps! It's not much warmer here. Cold weather stinks! T
You get to wait inside. Its pretty fast, don't wait long. A pretty big river (Fraser River) runs past the park I take Bella to. Today it was frozen. It doesn't freeze often, it was very cold there today.
Last night. I guess these are chicken burritos instead of enchiladas since we used flour tortillas. But we eat them with a fork like an enchilada. With Tabasco sriracha sauce. Whatever they were... tasty! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Were they baked in the oven with sauce over them? If not, you have a burrito there! You just fancy pantsed it up by eating with a fork. I once went on a business dinner in Memphis. Took the visitor to a bbq joint. He attempted to eat his ribs with a knife and fork! Image Unavailable, Please Login Still cold, so more soup. This was an everyone into the pool special. Trying to finish up old stuff with new groceries on the way. Celery, yellow onion, garlic, and my last jalapeño. Sweat. Add water, spices, pasta (fideo), leftover carnitas, a little tomato paste. Simmer. Add sambal oelek. Enjoy with beer bread. T
My day got ruined. Its 28f and snowing. House hot water tank is leaking, no hot water cause I turned it off. But getting the keys to new house today at 3pm. So can have showers there. Since it will be 5pm or so when I can shower. I'll just get fast food someplace near the new house.
Agreed. Used to be a lot of great, cheap cuts of beef - especially if you had a good relationship with your butcher - before the Internet ruined everything - hanger, flat iron, chuck eye, Denver, -steak, etc. Even chuck roast, which used to be cheap as dirt, has more or less doubled in price since I started using it for my F-chat chili recipe! T
Attempting to make the famous chicken and rice dish from Portland OR. tonight. https://khaomangai.com/recipe
Agreed on the flavor. As for burgers, good idea. When I was a kid, I remember seeing something called "chuck chop" at the supermarket - I think it was ground chuck. I could be mistaken though. I read or was told - can't remember which - that the portion of the chuck closest to the rib was the most tender, best tasting...T
