I just made a list and out of the 14 cars I bought/ordered in 2020...only 2 were automatic (FF and New Defender) and 12 are manual! If I were to buy my next car..another manual would make it to the top of the list... BMW M2 Manual Competition. All who want automatic...plenty of choice at Ferrari. Its the only choice offered. For the few who want manual and lightness...those days are long gone at Ferrari.I am still hoping they will make one in the future. The older Ferrari manuals fetch a huge premium over automatics. A because they are rare, but also they much closer represent what Ferrari is or used to be all about. So I don't get any of these comments...and yes maybe I am disappointed and annoyed that today it is all about 'how to get on the list'.
Because they are rarer, that is why they fetch the premium. They are rarer because they sold less of them, which is the point that was made. Also the early Ferrari F1 transmissions were uhhhh not so great. Which made the manuals more desirable from a pretty early point for those interested in driving them. Most of these manual cars go into a collection now, don't get driven, and they are treated like an investment. Then in 5 years that same car with a few hundred more miles on it will be on Bring a Trailer again and sell for a % gain. Some of the cars are fortunate and get purchased by someone who will drive it and cherish it. Same to be honest. The past few months it's been less information about the car in this thread, and more speculation of how to get on the list, how many are being made. If you're on the list, you've spent millions on Ferraris. That is how to get on the list
I have had 3 812s, one early car and then two resale bottom fishing. Last car that won real plaudits was 458 if we are honest.

Got a call from my dealer this afternoon - telling me I am „on the list“ for a „very special car“. I was told, that the „Spider“ is so limited, that it is going to be accessible only for real high end customers (F1, XX...). Coupe is going to be numbered to 799 pieces... No name, no pictures, no idea on pricing... So I am going to take what I get - not too bad at all.
I actually don’t find that to be true at all. The “superfast” f1 in the scud and the 16M actually are a lot of fun smooth with finesse from the driver.and downright violent when on it. I think it enhances the experience and rawness of the car.
