Same/similar design, but different plastic. Originals are white, new replacements are yellow. Time will tell if the replacements will fail too. My originals lasted 13 years. I would be just fine with the replacements lasting that long.

I bought the pumps from Ricambiamerica.com, and I used a coupon code from the “Normal guy supercar” YouTube channel for a little bit of a discount. No special tools needed. Everything unclips and unscrews like a normal car. The ring nut is plastic, and I tightened it by hand, then used a hammer and a punch to snug it up. The pump housing and the tank are notched, so they only fit one way. It really is an easy job, if you’re a do-it-yourselver.

    Sam,

I don't know what discount code you used to get them both for $400 from post #19 but 6 months later they are $636.56 ea for 181204 and 181205. Inquiring minds want to know how to get them that cheap.

These part numbers are listed both for Ferrari and Maserati 4200 but significantly cheaper if sourced as Maserati part. I checked Eurospares but none in the stock.

I bought them from Ricambi. I haven’t checked lately, but I’ve heard the price went up quite a bit.

Hello Samuel. I would like to change my 599 pumps but fuel started squirting out from the fuel line when I disconnected it from the pump cap. How do I stop this? Disconnect the battery? Please Email me at [email protected] or call me at 3059512839. Thanks

Disconnect the battery. Bleed the rails, as there is leftover pressure. Of course, when you open the door,
the fuel pumps start so possibly your does too. . Careful with auto windows and leave trunk open.
There are a lot of booby traps to the uninitiated. I got stuck with my trunk shut and the battery
disconnected, had to energize the system with another battery to the starter motor.
You might also wait a few days. Mine squirted, so I just dried out the fuel
by installing secondary hoses to drain any left over fuel.
Mine is a Maserati, same fuel pumps. Best to buy from the UK.

    Regards, Alberto

Mine from Eurospares, or Scuderia UK. Both super reliable and less than $500 including shipping.

The pros usually drain the tank, but not many of us have a place to drain it.

    Easier said than done :)

Where would you drain it from? Into 2, 18 gallon plastic ones, cheap and easy.
In the case of the Maser, you have to remove the filler neck and that one, is a real doozy.

When I did find the leak the tank was full, try shuffling it around the trunk, in a 599 might be easier :)

Regardless, in my case, major pain in the rear.

    Regards, Alberto
