Congratulations and W elcome to Club 458! Would love to see some interior shots when you have the time. Cheers!
I'll take lots of pictures today for sure. The sound is INCREDIBLE. I have a 911 and a 68 camaro and there is no comparison.
OK everyone asked for more pics, so here they are. Also had the new wheels put on! And on a more funny note, I already got pulled over - for no plates on the car. I thought i had 20 days to register the car but apparently not. Cop was funny, saying, you know I can have the car towed right now... but I doubt they know how to tow this car. Luckily he let me off with a fix it ticket. Now I have to wait till the title shows up... ugh! Image Unavailable, Please Login
When I bought my 458 in 2017 I was so excited about driving it home that the dealer forgot to put the temporary registration in the window. It was a Saturday and he drove it out to my house on Monday and we taped it to the front window. I then went for a spirited drive with the top down and the wind blew it out of the window. Then, somewhere between San Diego Ferrari / Ferrari North America / and the CA DMV the title got lost. I went five months without actual registration and license plates, which was awkward since I had ordered personalized plates that finally arrived after four months, but I needed registration and the original plates to pick them up. Enjoy your 458, Rob
I'll add one more. Two years ago I was headed in my 458 to the local store (Vons). I parked in the spot I normally use, but saw two San Diego County Sheriff SUVs nearby. As I got out of the car I considered popping on my Carbonio front license plate (CA law requires a front license plate, but it is a crime against humanity to put a front license plate on a Ferrari). Too late, as I got out of the car both Sheriff's Deputies had walked up to me. The first one says, "We need you to surrender the keys to your vehicle, immediately." But he's laughing and smiling, so I play along, "What is the problem officers?" He says, "You are clearly speeding while parked here in this parking lot." At this point the second officer just started laughing, but added, "Don't worry, we'll return it to you as soon as we run out of gas." Anyway, we spent 20 minutes talking about the car. They asked me, "Just between us, how fast have you driven it?" which I did not answer. At no point did they talk about my missing front license plate. I really, really regret not taking some pictures with these guys. They totally changed my perspective on San Diego law enforcement. Rob
The picture on the back of the truck I'm thinking yuk, it's black. But the picture in front of the garage door + the interior color = it's a great looking car.
Many congratulations on the new car. The dark blue is very classy. Unfortunately California is really cracking down on front license plate violations and it is only going to get worse. Luckily our front plate mount makes no holes and can be installed and removed in seconds. Many of our customers just carry the mount in the frunk which allows for a quick roadside fix and we have never heard of someone getting a ticket under these circumstances. The police will not accept a plate in the window as a fix so a ticket will be issued.
