SORRY and thanks for catching that! I was so long ago, it was a 1987 TR, Red on Black two mirror car with knock-off wheels.
The Testarossa is finally ready to ship tomorrow. Seems like an eternity but really only about a month. Ended up doing the belt service, changing the exhaust and replaced the clutch. Hopefully I will get a reliable car for the next few years. The only thing I was t able to get were new tires. Any idea when some will be available and where the beat place to get them? Better to take the time to get the car right than be disappointed and have headaches when you get it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Americas tire has them, I assume you have the 16" wheels. Tire Rack probably has them, it's the cheapest part of ownership. These fit my 87 Testarossa Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
Photos coming soon. The transport called and should be here tomorrow. Exciting Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Unfortunately there are not much choices of tires for even the 16” wheels- mostly due to the rears Goodyear Sport Comp 2 are probably the best all around tire if you can find a set. The rears have been unavailable for some time. It looks like they finally did a production run if America’s Tire is showing stock. When Comp 2 rears were not available a couple years ago I put on Toyo Proxies R888. They are much more sticky than the goodyear and on my car were much quieter as well. I really liked the R888s. However, they are not a good choice for wet pavement. I believe the tire compound is also not good for cold weather either. Testarossa generally don’t see much foul weather so it may or may not matter for you. Those two are probably the best available.
Sadly they aren't available. Turns out I need new tires soon so I'm trying to track down a set. They are backordered and they don't know when a batch will be made. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
You could try the Michelin Pilot Sport that are part of the Michelin Classic range - they're not always available because I think they only produce batches from time to time, but some specialists (I just looked and found https://www.cokertire.com/tires/brands/michelin-tires.html?tire_rim_diameter=1777 in the US) may have stocked some (or if you're lucky with the timeframe you could order them).
Damn those are expensive. But if I need them then what can you do. I have life in mine so I'll see if I can get the bf goodrich ones. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
Americas tire is discount tire where I am. They had called the manufacturer to see if they can get any and they were told it's out of stock and they don't know when they will make more. Guess we all need to send an email commiting to new tires. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
The car finally arrived today. My first impressions are that I love it. The peddle box is incredible small, so much that I had to take off my right show to make sure I wasn’t pressing the brake at the same time. The windows are ridiculously slow but I know I can fix that. The horn is awesome but the Capristo exhaust is even better. But, it doesn’t sound any better than the F430 with the s-line exhaust. Not better but different. It rides smoother than I thought it would. Second gear was easy to select even after only about two minutes of idling to warm up a little. Shifts are slow but the clutch is crazy easy to work. I did install a new clutch while it was there. The car is actually cleaner than the pictures represented. I tested several area and they all clean up very well. It looks like it was well maintained but could have brought more if he had spent $$$ giving it a good detail. So far so good. I will post some pictures in a bit. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Buy some real driving shoes! Sneakers can be a problem! The first time you hit the brakes and the gas at the same time will scare the crap out of you! LOL
What size shoe do you wear? I have 9.5 new balance sneakers and they work just fine. I noticed that if the leather panel near the gas pedal isn't properly in place then the pedal box is tight Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
