The inaugural Napa Valley 750, the Wine Country Road Rally was held at the Harvest Inn in August, 2020. The second annual event will be this April 11-15, 2021 in St. Helena, CA. The rally benefits the St. Helena Hospital Foundation.

The inaugural event in 2020 included a Dino, 275 GTB/4, 599 GTO, 365GT, 488, and two F12s including a 70th Anniversary example and was sponsored by Ferrari of San Francisco and Harvest Inn, St. Helena. Open to sports cars of significant makes, with an emphasis on models built prior to 1974, the Napa Valley 750 brings together motoring enthusiasts from across America, together with the amazing roads of wine country during the day, with spectacular wine dinners at some of Napa Valley’s finest wineries. Looks like a nice event. How much is the entry fees?

I cannot make it this year, but would like to consider next year. Is there a mailing list one can get on?

The entry fee is different each year depending on the winery dinners, days of driving (2021 is a 4 driving day event, where as 2020 was 3 days of driving). The 2021 entry fee for one car and two participants is $9750, all in, for one car and two participants (driver & co-driver). There is no charge for folks who wish to bring more than one car (K.R. Rombauer was not alone in bringing 3 cars for 3 days of driving last year). Pretty much all you need to bring is gasoline and a good attitude. The registration includes all hotel rooms, world class wine country dining, including all meals from Sunday dinner to Friday breakfast, exclusive winery experiences, touring support crew with flat bed, daily tidy up by on-site detailers, and curated route book, and of course an impressive schwag etc. 100% net proceeds benefit the St. Helena Hospital Foundation.

Open to vintage and modern sports cars of significant makes, with a focus on motorcars built prior to 1976.

Good flavor about last year’s event can also be read here in a couple of articles from the Napa Valley Register and The Nob HIll Gazette. Aaron Hagar has a great podcast on it too, though I’m not finding it right away.

Is this something we can write off for the hospital foundation?

Like most charity rallies, a portion of the rally registration may be tax deductible. The event is organized to help raise money for the Saint Helena hospital foundation. That foundation is a 501(c)(3). It’s a great organization and a great rally. I highly recommend it.
