    Two reasons, nepotism is an Italian invention and because he has not had access to equipment as good as Mick and the other two so it is a chance, perhaps a very last chance to assess him...

    As stated above, he´s still in FDA so it makes sense to give him a ride. It´s true that he didn´t have the same equipment than Schwartzmann and Illiot, but neither he had their records.

    It would be interesting to see him in a top F2 team.

    Toto is probably paying the lawyers more than $150 per hour--you expect to work them hard !! Real hard !!

    All we have to do is to get the lawyers to change Georges' name to Toto Legally ! {See what I told you about working them hard...}

    Not playing the Russel card INDEED !!

    I am sad, and I am sometimes angry. Forza Ferrari, I will suffer for as long it takes.

    Come on Ferrari, let’s agree the stupid matte experiment was a failure and bring back shiny Italian racing red.

    As an aside, I recommend the Corsa Pilota Sport course at Fiorano.
    As well as the cars, fun and first class instructors, the place just oozes history..

    what do they really learn driving a 4 year old car? or is Ferrari testing some new items... that just happened to be on the older car?

    That's the only practice they are allowed in a real car on track and not a simulator, I guess.

    I don't think they learn anything, but just get to do some speed if they are a bit rusty during the inter-season.

    They will really discover their "new" car during the official FIA test days.

    “Despite being conducted in older machinery, the test will give Sainz a chance to get used to Ferrari's systems and work with his new race crew and engineers before the start of F1's single pre-season test in Bahrain on 12 March.”

    I worry that Carlos will think, “wow that is an engine” and be let down by the 2021 car.
    Let’s hope I’m wrong !

    I don't buy it. but ok.... what prevents them from trying out new engines etc... Does the FIA police pvt tests? .... other than the sound - I guess you could run a new engine in an old F -1 car like in the client program ... or even as a road car mule....
