If you had the choice to purchase only one, which would you choose and why?

Tailor made 488 Pista Spider or SF90 Stradale? Both vehicles brand new and approximately same MSRP.

I think that the Pista spider looks better and will hold it value better.

SF90 is considered a Ferrari supercar along the lines of the 288gto, enzo etc.
those will be your tablemates on the lawn.

Let me start a new thread in the racing forum so as not to distract from this thread. I’m still learning a lot but I’ll post what I’ve learned so far. Lots of info out there. It is a bit overwhelming.

There are some VR solutions. I'm having one configured as well. I'll share when I get the data.

To the OP, I would go Pista all day long. It is a beautiful and well performing car.

1000 hp, state-of-the-art (although hybrid, God forbid), top of the range, vs aged platform, worsened by flexing body... even though I'm not buying either of them, I do not see how there should be a contest.

The contest is the anti-hybrid bias. Yet everybody here would give their left nut for a La Ferrari or a Porsche 918

But the SF90 does not approach the appearance of La Ferrari, Porsche 918 or P1. which look like hyper cars. The SF90 looks like an evolution of the 488 series.

Yes and its 1/3 the price so you give up some looks but you get all the performance.

Fair point. The front and “anchor” design graphics on some specs are hideous.
Performance though, the SF90 owns, as it should given price and tech gap over Pista/Fate.

I had allocation for the SF90 and WAS SO EXCITED for this car but after seeing it in person at the launch I just could not get past the styling, its just not attractive IMHO (don't hate me), ordered an F8 instead.

As for the car being considered a hyper car for Ferrari, it was designed to fit between the mid engine (F8) and hypercar (LaF) and will not be limited but rather a regular production car. It was a market gap that Ferrari was looking to fill, originally planned as an answer to the Lamborghini Aventador and its price positioning. its smart, but what a missed opportunity to style something truly amazing and different, not a version of a Pininfarina era car, closer to a LaF.

Fortunately, it's not a fantasy. I figured where better to get an honest opinion. Dealers will say whatever they need to make a sale.

None the less i appreciate everyones input.

It's an easy decision for me as I think the Pista is my halo choice!

I have four Pistas, so it is not like I think they suck, but I would take a Specialé before a Pista. And an SF90, the fastest production car ever produced by Ferrari? Yes, yes, yes please!

I was always under the impression that the SF90 was actually the new F8 as they are V8's.

The F8 and SF90 strategically are being sold side by side , very smart.

The LB will be sold along the F8 for the very same reason different enough so as to appeal differently to customers.

Eventually the F8 will fade and all there will be the LB and the SF90 only. What effectively Ferrari has done is to raise the prices of their cars. e.g a F8 is around 600 k with little extras here the SF90 is over 1.1 Million. So Ferrari effectively increased the price of a V8 with a new model. Where as the 488 GTB to F8 was only 20 K here.

The V8 regardless F8 OR 488 GTB's will ultimately go up in price.

The SF90 is no way the same line as the LAFerrari. Might be faster but thats it. It wont be long but there will be a new LA Ferrari. to fill that spot.
