    no not really
I bought my car to drive it not wash and wax it
    Ferrari's are like condoms
    most fun when used!
unfortunately the majority of the individuals who buy these cars buy them for the wow factor
and they wonder why they break, wont start have issues
I am retired airline pilot and these cars are a lot like airplanes, the more you use them
    the better they work
    Hangar Queens are terrible flyers
here is a picture of my 575 odometer its a 2003 that I bought in may of 2019 with 26K on it
my 308 QV 1984 GTB had over 110k on it when I sold it
    the cars are extremely reliable
for the life of me I cant figure out why you would spend so much money on a car and not drive it
it would like buying a house and only living in one room!
oh well, too each their own
    have a good new year
I was hoping to go over 50K on the 575 this year but COVID got in the way of that
    but I got close!

    I travel with my car
That’s why they are made for not washing and waxing
I’ve been to MONTRÉAL with it several times for the GP
And I went to every GP at Indy when it was there
I didn’t get 111k on it going grocery shopping
I could care less if anyone saw the car
I rarely if ever attend event unless it a charity event for kids

How long have you owned that car? And did you ever drive it to Indianapolis for f1 or the 500? If so i may have a picture of it in my vault from the late 90s early 2000s.

I'll dig it up when I get home. I'll never forget this car because it had a sticker of Calvin and Hobbes on the window urinating on a Porsche emblem. It was red and I can't remember what the interior color was. It was parked downtown in a parking garage I believe. Happy new year.

Hahaha Amazing! I know I snapped one or two photos of that on my disposable camera, I was still in high school at the time. I'll post them sometime this week. I'm headed back north after the new year.

    Update on the 512TR.
The rough running and gasoline smell out of the exhaust was due to bad FPR. Changed both of them and did spark plugs as well. Its a whole different car now. Now its running properly. What a car!!!!

while doing this I decided to flush the coolant, we purged the system through the nipples on the pipes going to the radiators. Car was running good until 1 hour or so where temperature started going a bit over half. We purged it again but it still feels it has air on the system. Anyone can shine on this one?

There is also an air bleed screw on the thermostat housing. Item 9 here:

    https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/diagram/ferrari/512-tr/023-engine-cooling

(I don't think you need to remove it completely -- just loosen it enough until liquid coolant comes out thru the threads.)

Also, run the cabin heater to ensure that that portion of the system gets filled with coolant.

The bleed screw on the thermostat housing has a slit cut lengthwise along the threads. Once the head is unseated with a few turns, coolant or air flows out thru the slit. No additional benefits from full removal.

The brass screw cannot be picked up with a magnet. If you unscrew it all the way out and drop it... you may have a very time consuming search and retrieval ahead of you. It typically drops into the cam belt area... it could conceivably get into some hazardous areas.

Don’t ask me how I know that....;)

Never had to move that pain in the ass screw on the thermostat
I would not mess with it at all, if you take it out and drop it you’ve entered the third circle of hell!
Just take your time and have water ready and leave the cap off and loosen the two nipples that bleed the system
Run the car if you can find a spot with the nose down, if you can’t find a nose down place Jack the rear of the car up then.
Keep an eye on the temp gauge don’t let it get above 220 during all if this, if it get high turn the car off let it cool it might take a couple of tries
Nothing is easy with a TR !
Run the car with heater on and until you get hot water out of both bleed screws
When the fans come on your done, close the 2 bleed screws
Top off the tank and it’s over
Getting the nose down is the key, just a little air can cause you issues
Call me if you have issues

I have over 110k on my 512 TR and have done the coolant many times
