Put a young Stirling in the same spec car as Lewis and Lewis would be toast. Lewis has had an arm chair ride. Bloody lucky but also maybe shrewd to get into Mercedes.

Mahogany is what I'll use next time I do this

 

JM I might have 2 new old stock mahogany rims at Dads shop..Let me know the diameter and I’ll check for you..

 

Hi Gaz, outside diameter of the aluminium wheel is 420mm, would be brilliant if you have them, cheers mate

 

Well for the 1st time in about 5 years ,I removed the hardtop from RavinJag , idea being summer as a roadster and the drive to the Blue Mountains # with roof down ...not sure after a drive on a freeway if I want to travel 2,300ks with the roof down or the soft-top up ....found it tiring .

Long story the '74 G Series car in the RS style ended up with a guy in Sydney who had it for a while then sold it about 2 years ago ,good car that 260 bhp weight about 1,050 kilos , close ratio gearbox ,lower final diff ratio ...you could not pick it from an original RS.

the early 3.8 E-types like mine have a bad diff whirring noise , pinion bearing, at least with the roof down ,I can't hear it .

 

Its a nicer ride , I'll put it back on for the drive ,plus it don't leak.
