Cars that make this kind of power need their tires at the appropriate temps or they will not have proper grip. The alternative is to go AWD which mot enthusiasts dont want which is why they pay more for the 2WD variant i.e. 2RS, STO, etc.
Not sure I agree. The Performante was AWD and was an amazing car in all aspects. STO will be even better and set the new benchmark IMO but a different use case.
Whatever your benchmark may be. Sound, enjoyment, track use, best of NA ICE, looks etc etc. Up to the individual I guess
From what I read in the latest issue of evo magazine the 992 GT3 might be worth consideration when it's released - although Audi made Lambo more respectable I can't help suspecting them of focussing on showing off...
I think do some reading and you might change your mind. The STO really is a STS for the road. Best to wait for the reviews.
Can’t wait for the reviews. I’ve looked for as much info as I could and in summary, it has loads of carbon bodywork, uprated brakes, more aero and tuned dampers like most other track focused variants. Is there something additional that makes the STO more race car-like than its competitors? Does it have steel ball joints in the suspension? The literature says ‘stiffer’ so it isn’t clear to me what that means. The GT2 RS and AMG GT BS have them so I hope/assume the STO would also given that it’s being marketed as a street legal race car.
Something commonly overlooked by many, particularly kids in street with modified little 4 cyl cars and overconfident drivers in their abilities and in their little cars.
BUT the STO is the car people are clamoring for and from all reviewers the RWD Huracan was more fun too drive vs. the AWD version.
Particularly Mustangs... They are indeed honoring the name. I think that the poor judgment package is included in nearly every car made.
Speaking from personal experience, I replaced the 610-4 with the 580-2 no regrets. I understand the Perf has different driving dynamics and the AWD may be more usable in colder climates.
Negative from my dealer. Added weight and complexity defeat the ethos of the STO. Next year STO Spyder HA. If Audi/Lambo can make coin they will do it. Reference the numerous iterations of the Gallardo and Aventador.
The spyder is a no but even if Lamborghini wanted to come out with a STO spyder they would have to redesign the rear to keep the air scoop and engine cover. And lets not forget all the weight added by the bulky soft top. And remember with the G they only had one track variant spyder which was the Performante which was basically the G SL.
I got it reconfirmed: The LW version will be launched late in 21. Deliveries will start from first half of 2022. I am even offered to sign a preliminary order sheet. Should be OK. Unless new viruses or other catastrophic events come down.
Yes. The successor of the Pista. A final lightweight version of the non-electrified V8 mid engine era. „F8 Finalmente“.
Why are you so convinced there will be no LW version? And why should an official dealer close deals which he cannot implement?
It has been confirmed numerous times there will not be a track/special version of the F8. With this said I dont put anything past Ferrari and wouldn't be surprised if they lied to their dealers as well.
Let me ask you this question. Why have you not signed the order and given the dealer some money? Forgetting the fact your dealers story is more or less globally unique, if there was to be a LW version it must be Ferrari's best kept secret to date - with no spy shots or any other leakage..... And the guy I know over here who I checked with who would definitely know given his position in Ferrari here is calling what you say forum BS big time. PS to Gh, agree who do you trust these days in Ferrari but if this is the new Ferrari business model BSing to their customers as the new order of the day then its a very bad sign of the times for the company in general. Frankly I don't believe Ferrari is that desperate for business to be having to BS customers around to that degree.
RWD Huracans are a thrill ride. I purchased the 580-2 over the 610 and the RWD EVO was one of the most thrilling cars I have driven. They are not as technically capable nor exhibit the grip and control as the Performante or the EVO AWD, but that is precisely what makes them so exciting to drive. I cannot imagine the STO not elevating the excitement factor and the track capability.
