Even though they both have the same engines, there is a lot of difference between the two. Pista is lighter. F8 can achieve this with many light weight options. Pista also has a tighter chassis. Are there any aftermarket options to make the F8 have the same stiff and precise feeling we get with the Pista?
You can easily make the F8 into a Pista. Step 1- sell the F8. Step 2- buy a Pista. conversion complete.
The weight difference cannot be overcome. Bastardizing an F8 to try to mimic a Pista is an exercise in futility. You won’t get there but you will ruin your F8 resale value. I use to not buy used cars. But if I continued that, I’d never have some of the greatest cars ever made. Buying a used F40, F50, CGT, LFA, FXX? Not really a bad thing. Maybe climb off your pedestal of new cars only?
Ok, I can buy a used one. But, I already gave a non-refundable deposit for the F8. I can try a stiffer & lower suspension to get some precision.
Some guy was standing by one of my Pilotas saying how he’d never track a Pista with the carbon wheels to his friend. I walked up and said while entering the car bound for the track, “unless maybe you had four of them.”
Deposits cannot be non refundable. See if your dealer has a Pista that you can transfer your money to or ask for your deposit back. They cannot keep your money.
Agree this is the only solution. Trying to turn an F8 into a Pista is as 2sherpa said, an exercise in futility and the fastest way to destroy the value of an F8. The net result being a car which is neither your backside nor your elbow. And putting a Pista stripe on it isn't helpful - only makes matters even worse.
My Pista just went on consignment at Dimmitt in Tampa. If you gave a deposit for a future allocation for the F8 it is refundable until the allocation actually is confirmed and locked in (accepted by Ferrari). This is different than just saying you are on the dealers list.
While this discussion has apparently become a bit academic, one of the many things I find attractive about my Pista is the aggressive styling. Try as one might, even if one did succeed in making the F8 feel like a Pista, you'd still be missing out on the astounding visual presence of the latter. Like I've said before, if he F8 is a stormtrooper, then the Pista is Darth Vader...the dramatic organ music starts when the Pista appears on set.
One of the best and most ingenious ads ever. And for the record- I have no problem not being the first with that.
LOL... I just saw you car on Thursday! Friggin beautiful and like new. My wife was looking at Astons...I just walked around your car and stared.
