Yes. My concern with these low volume production cars with CF tubs will all be written off in accidents. Not as easy to repair like metal and can't ensure safety even if CF repairs attempted. Sourcing a new tub will likely be difficult...

true. isnt the f50 cf tub time limited and needs replacement after 25 yrs or so? cant imagine work required to re fit new tub. might make financial sense in a multi million $ hypercar but what about a base mclaren?

Time limited? Hmm...I remember there were fears about McLaren using CF tubs in the F1 early on and that it wouldn't last and may have a limited lifespan but that's not true. I would think the F50 would be the same.

    It's a number car!

    Performance:

    0 – 100kph (0-62mph) 2.6
    0 – 200kph (0-124mph) 4.7
    0 – 300kph (0-186mph) 8.4
    0 – 400kph (0-249mph) 15.5

    Top speed > 500 kph (> 311mph)

I can't wait to see that.

He is well aware of the SSC Tuatara fiasco, so I'm sure:rolleyes:? he knows he has to be very open, transparent and well documented about any numbers, tests and claims or he'll get called out.

cannot see how any rwd car can accelerate to those stats due to traction limitations regardless how high the hp. this car will spin its tires in 5th gear at 150mph. its ridiculous really.

Nice quality engine bay and the interior not too geeky. Best part is no EV anything just massive ICE drivetrain. Reliability, heat and single clutch transmission have to be challenging.

That's a lot of money for a kit car. The driver area in a c8 is superior. The base c8 goes 0-60 in 2.8 with 500HP.

Would not compare any of this car to a C8. To be fair, this is in another world in every respect. I don't know the Hennessey story and the overall shape is odd but the things that count - materials, quality workmanship, engine - are quite pleasing. We'll see if its the real deal.

Sales allocation for each of the 24 bespoke $2.1M hypercars from Hennessey Performance is now complete
Sealy, Texas (August 18, 2021) - High-performance vehicle specialist Hennessey Special Vehicles has announced it has sold all its Venom F5 hypercars. The Texas-based company showed a pair of Venom F5 customer cars at Monterey Car week where orders were confirmed for the remaining models of the 24-vehicle run.

The F5 pair were shown at The Quail – A Motorsports Gathering, the Pebble Beach Concours and McCall's Motorworks Revival at the week-long celebration of all things automotive in California. Tens of thousands of fans joined Hennessey customers in admiring the ‘performance follows function’ form of the F5 along with its luxurious, driver-focused interior.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: “Showing two of the latest F5 models at The Quail and Pebble Beach alongside the likes of Bugatti, Lamborghini and Koenigsegg was an honor for the whole Hennessey team. The fact that we secured orders from customers who saw the cars at the events is testament to the quality our team has achieved… and we’re yet to reach the vehicle’s full potential!”

Hennessey’s $2.1M twin-turbocharged, 6.6-liter V8 hypercar boasts 1,817 hp and 1,193 lb-ft of torque making it the most powerful hypercar ever made. Hennessey’s team focused on quality of workmanship, and simplicity of design and engineering to deliver a hypercar without peers.

With the show season drawing to a close, the engineering team may return to final validation testing on roads and racing circuits. The final phase of testing will see the team refine the car’s full-power acceleration, high-speed stability and braking. Once the engineering team signs-off this final development phase, Hennessey has its sights set on a top speed surpassing 311 mph (500 kph).

John Hennessey: “Selling out is just the beginning of the F5 journey for us, our customers and our fans. Production has already begun, with customer deliveries starting this year and continuing through 2023. That’s not all, as we’ve saved a few more surprises for the F5, including the Track Pack enhancements, plus something else that’s literally out of this world!”

Here's John with my car partner and another friend at Ford GT National Rally 11 in Austin. He was a lot of fun to talk to. I know there have been issues with his shop in the past, but hope they have put that behind them.
