Makes sense thanks
Late 93 models are ok Like mine with 111k on it Also it matters who owned the car If it was some dirt ball who thinks he is in a mustang it wouldn’t matter if it was an M Because it’s going to fail
i use mobile one 20-50 change it every 7000 miles write the date and mileage on the filter with a marker so you know when it was done
Clyde are you using the 15x50 synthetic? I don't think they carry a 20x50 Mobile one. Great stuff with zinc and Phosphorus additive package.
First problem, one fan isn’t working and I’m gettin 210F temps. The car has been always serviced by Ferrari and has had major work on it. Tranny is smooth, engine also, has power and overall good condition. I got this car for a great price and considering they are going up, I’m on the safe side. I love the car and will do some good work on it to improve from the current condition. Still searching for an overseas F mechanic thah can come and put it in shape properly!
Looking at a picture does not tell you if you have a sticky problem in all cases. Wipe it clean of the residue on it and check it in person with your fingers. Of the four I have owned, not one single one had a sticky problem whatsoever. Btw, they make that whole piece in gloss carbon and it looks beautiful and ends sticky forever. You have a pm

Interesting to see that my ‘91 car is free of sticky problems. Seems to be a problem of later models.
Yes, 4 out of 4 tr's and never a sticky for me. What you hear about late model cars is not true of our cars mostly. A lot of misinformation out there.
My 93 512tr had it bad . Getting the stickrx treatment as we speak Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
I have 10 of those 5 gallon containers with various weights. Use 20x50 RP or find some with Zinc and Phosphate. RP makes it that way too.
Not tying to promote RP. The 10w-40 is not terribly common these days. If Mobil 1 was avail in a 10w-40... that would be my first choice. The purple color of RP strikes me as a marketing ploy rather than a oil improving additive. That said, it does have a good reputation. The viscosity range ‘may’ be a vital design component for Ferrari. Maybe not. Hard to say since oils have improved so much since the ‘80s. One thing for sure... a high quality 10w-40 will do just fine.
It’s not sticky but it has some “water marks” to say a name on it. A specialist will come to do some detailing on it and see how it goes. My FF has way more stickier buttons than the 512TR.
Check the fan relays And your circuit board fuse box my bet is you have arcing and that’s not a good sign The fans rarely go bad You can pull the plug on the fans an apply 12 volts to it I bet it will spin Also you probably have one of the thermostats not working as well They are up against the fire wall and a ***** to replace with the engine in That’s why when a service is done it’s cheap insurance to replace them
Yes using mobil one synthetic Never had an issue It’s the same stuff they used on my Airbus airplane when I flew
