Standing water, summer tires, 50 degrees, now to be fair I wanted to see what kind of traction I would have and I found out...

    Haha. Now ya know!
Im pretty risk averse in the wet. Hydroplaning scared me way more than sliding in snow/ice

So the idea is the verdi had a 40mm side wall vs Pirelli OEM with 35mm side wall, so will take holes better?

Sort of. But middle number is a ratio, not an absolute.

Interesting. I'm in Europe and as much as I think the Vred Wintrac's are great, can't say I'm a huge fan of their summer shoes. Haven't tried them on a Lusso, but my brother have them on his BMW and I definitely prefer Michelins.

To each their own I suppose.

Yep. It's a percentage, not mm.

    235 mm x 0.35. 82.25 mm is your sidewall.

The Wintrac Jerry runs have a sidewall that is 98 mm. They handle potholes A LOT better. Using a 235/35 tyre on a 2 ton behemoth is just stipid if you ask me. I see the OE winter tyres as,an afterthought they did not care about.

Wow, didn't know it can be sized as 245/40 and 275/40. Would have done it that way if I had known. Would those sizes cause the computer to go crazy?

Can't find Wintrac on TireRack, but those sizes pull up Vred Quadrac Pro which is all-season but "severe snow service rated" snowflake-inside-mountain logo.

No it will not cause any issues with the ESC/ABS system.

They are available from Tirerack, but as usual their site is a bit of a mess.

Search for each size individually and just put two of each in your basket. If you search for them as a complete set, they won't show up.

Having now put more miles on these tires, I think the tires just needed to break in. They feel more settled now, more like how I would expect them to feel. And this morning the roads were damp. Highly recommended and again, un grande grazie a @Il Co-Pilota for his help.

I am enjoying these tires more and more. For some more info on them I have settled on 32.2 psi in my 60F garage via my tire pressure gauge, this reads as 31 on the Ferrari screen (just after TPMS reset). After a spirited drive the reading is 34 psi all around. Ambient temps in the 50F range so this may need some further tweaking.

I would really leave them there. You're bang on in the butter zone of where they should be. They don't run hot, pressure is stable etc. and if they also feel good when driving, they are on point. Don't fix what's not broken:)
