458 buzzing noise under throttle

    I have a 2011 458 Italia. Stock exhaust with the bypass valves open. I have an unusual noise that occurs under throttle around 3-4.5K Rpm. Its buzzing sound that gets louder as i rev up to 4.5 from 3000. Then it has a decrescendo off throttle as the RPM drops. Anyone have idea? Attaching an audio clip.

    What did your mechanic say? Did you send the clip to them?

    Not yet. Just had it serviced one month ago. Just looking to know if anyone has faced it before or has any ideas. No Ferrari dealer here so has to be taken to Indy shop if no one has recommendation

    Wow that's a nasty noise. It should be pretty easy to find because it's loud, and reproducible.
    Is it inside, or outside of the car?

    It's inside the car. The phone is picking it up more than it really is while driving.

    Sounds like dash or instrument cluster vibration/buzzing?..

    No. Its coming from behind me. I tried tapping various trim pieces without any luck. Weird that it's RPM dependent.

    sounds like something is loose, RPM dependent may just mean as more load more vibration on whatever it is..something in engine bay? exhaust maybe? you will have to take it to a shop- and let us know the results so if anyone searches later on they find the answer. good luck

    I have a 2014 458 and had a similar noise but more of a rattle and it happened right after the car was serviced. It turned out to be a loose engine bay component which was taken out for service so I would check the engine bay side covers for loose screws.

    Yeah it was a bolt in under the center tunnel. One of the coolant line was apparently vibrating against a bolt. The mechanic rerouted the coolant line and that fixed the issue. It was so bad i was about ready to sell the car.
