Do you think this has any connection to the fact that Binotto is not in Abu Dhabi this weekend?

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/ferrari-ceo-louis-camilleri-resigns-after-bout-with-covid-19-11607643067

MILAN—Ferrari NV Chief Executive Louis Camilleri resigned unexpectedly from the Italian luxury sports-car maker after being hospitalized for Covid-19.

On Thursday, Mr. Camilleri also resigned with immediate effect as chairman of Philip Morris International Inc. where he had been employed for four decades. Mr. Camilleri, 65, has left the hospital and is finishing his recovery at home, according to a person familiar with the situation. Ferrari said he had resigned for unspecified personal reasons.

John Elkann, Ferrari’s chairman and the head of the Italian family that owns a controlling stake in the car marker, will take over as CEO until a permanent replacement can be found. Mr. Camilleri is also resigning from Ferrari’s board.

Not likely if there’s no immediate successor.

I’d be surprised if this has anything to do with F1.:

Are you out of your mind? Ferrari is in this predicament now precisely because of LDM. :(

Nothing shocking here, IMO. It was more shocking for me how a cig man took over Ferrari.

Hope not. This guy was a smoker and seems he was hospitalized the last two weeks with COVID, though he’s out now and at home in New York.

Don’t understand how you can run a company from across an ocean and maybe a good reason why you’d want to have an Italian in charge—for all those people who think Ferrari is “too Italian”

The soul of this company must remain deeply Italian, I would even say Emilienne ( Emilia-Romagna) . Difficult to find someone who can reconcile financial returns and a passionate vision..

I goes to prove that, for the foreseeable future, "COVID-19" will continue to be the excuse/scapegoat to justify any action/decision. :)

Even though this guy wasn’t seen as a good fit it’s just the instability and leadership vacuum is something they could have done without.

Hopefully they make an inspired selection and just choose something who is well connected.
