No, certainly not mentally. Russell looks like Lewis at 22, showcasing his speed, but it takes years to develop the mental discipline and consistency to win champoinship over a year

The fact that Russell could gain so many positions twice proves more than just staying in the lead.

Just bad ass luck! Merc would never throw away a win (though they really stuffed that stacked pit stop)

Makes you wonder if Lewis would have spoken out about attempting a double-stack beforehand.

The used tires were the only thing they could do in the moment. Russell had at least one of Bottas' tires, so Bottas didn't have a warm fresh set to put on.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I’m just going to say it... perhaps the implications of Russell winning were just too great. Seems sooooo odd to me that a team that pretty much runs flawlessly season after season can totally f up quite this bad.

Go Checo. WINNER! Hey RED BULL FIRE ALBON now!

    Hey Mercedes - just be honest in the future about shafting Bottas.........P A T H E T I C

    Nice for OCON! Well done!

Lawrence Stroll should not go near Checo!

He was catching George.......they denied him with a needless stop. They left him out so long as he his tires faded before stop1. Pathetic strategy for Bottas. Needless.

Given the car, Russell would have no problem developing those skills.

The car on fast tires. They were going to lap 26 cars tonight. Its really simple physics on how good this car is on such a short track.

He’s a Racer! Bottas is fast but doesn’t have that battling instinct.

    G. Russell is the real deal, but I think we’ve known that!

He seemed very consistent in this race. Where he lost out was in the messed up pitstops and then an unfortunate slow puncture - there was nothing any driver could have done about either.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Was not Russell's fault he finished 9th... slow tire puncture did him in... He showed his mental discipline plenty in the race drove brilliantly managing the race up front and then making key pass to work up to p2 before the tire puncture
