    97k for a 36k miles car, a f1 with that mileage isn’t worth more than 82-85

... and that’s what this is all about. Having options out there to put together a Ferrari that checks your boxes. Building a Ferrari of your dreams without feeling guilty of actually driving it because only 5 were made.

Ferrari enthusiasts spend quite a bit chasing newer and what might possibly be “better,” and more often than not, it’s not enough or simply doesn’t check the right boxes. It does this, but it doesn’t do this. Life is too short to put a number on something that finally makes you content.

I mean they should, right? It is 12-20k in parts and ~10 hours of install work. I think the question is what is the premium adder + sale of spare F1 parts total.

What is my argento 06 f1 spider with 21k fully documented miles worth? Paint is perfect as is the leather and buttons. Has capristo headers with blankets and capristo 200 cell cats and f1 actuator recently replaced cple years ago with new clutch at 19k miles.

What is my 07 f1 430 red tan spider with 2,800 fully documented miles worth? All oem and one owner. Sticker was 278k i believe - has carbon brakes and every carbon package inside and out including air boxes

    Well let me try.
If u take that bad car 91+5k is 96k right.
U seen the state of that car. So far we agree. (I think)
Do I really think that the SAME car but with F1 gets 96k?
    I say NO way.
Attached are some 430 f1 that sold at auction recently.
With miles, and not pristine. Just like this one.
    They didn’t do that well.

But is it a one-off since mostly real Ferrari parts?

per the seller "The conversion was done with all Ferrari original parts. I don’t think (other than the VIN) even a dealer can tell tell the difference from a factory original"

The aftermarket pieces are better than the original oem. A 430 with capristo headers is worth more than a 430 with oem headers.

As far as if a 6-speed conversion makes a 'lousy' investment - I think that's some Jeremy Clarkson level hyperbole. Now, suppose you want to say conversion is currently not at the premium of a factory 6-speed. In that case, I think that's reasonable, but I haven't seen anyone argue otherwise. Who knows what the future holds, though? That question is not settled, and all our proclamations are just opinions until some time has passed.

I think your passion for the F1 transmission and your preference for that format to you should give a unique understanding of why folks may have that same feeling toward the 6 speed. As both of us have said and agreed, to each their own.

    Cheers

P.S. Full apologies for my error on the bidup conversion 360; I was mistaken that the particular conversion was NormalSuperGuys's car. I want to go on the record stating MY FULL ERROR. Thank you too @ttforcefed and @Sj_engr, for keeping me honest. They did give useful context on why it was so cheap, which ironically was even more compelling than my initial false charge. Thanks all.

There is an entire video series about it. Yes. Parts used to be less but I guess now there is a change in strategy.

Hey paul - yes dan normal guy has teamed up with art for gated 6. The idea is dan will focus on order management and inventory leaving art free to manage conversion and r&d. Seems like a good approach to me.

parts used to be less and the demand was so high it overwhelmed inventory and installation.
