I purchased a 458 Italia about a month ago. I want cruise control / pit speed. I did a forum search and found some positive and negatives. It looks like the software needs to be installed by a Ferrari dealer. I already purchased Ferrari part #253025 - Display Mode Unit and Cruise Control. The dealer wants a lot of money for the software because I did not purchase the part from them. I have a reliable Indy that says they can get the software. Can anyone think of a reason why I shouldn't use them instead?

I bought the left actuator second hand and Ferrari update the software. Maybe the bill was around 400$ if I recall good

May I ask what "a lot of money "is?

I was thinking of doing too.
One persons a lot might be reasonable to another.....

    Thanks,

I asked about adding that as well, dealership in Plano Tx was about the same price for part, program and install. They said they would not program a unit that they did not
    sell

    Thanks for sharing this.
I haven't looked into the cost to do this but this might be the penalty price for not having bought the part through the dealership.....
If your indy can do the work this might be a better choice.
Hopefully they will take care of you .

    Regards,
    GG

FYU, a Ferrari dealership is the only one that can update the software for this and many other Ferrari parts that need hard coding. I have verified this from multiple independent shops that only service Ferraris.
