As much as I think Hamilton is an amazing driver, I don't really fancy Alonso that much (quite the understatement, I know). Getting beaten by the new guy in his first season, even if they tied on points, is not what one expects from a 2xWDC. He should have been a few points ahead but seems he was just your average F1 driver with two lucky seasons.
Interesting point of view. I think Alonso is a very good driver. He was always relatively strong with every team he drove for.
To me a tie is a tie - I know u are a pro Hamilton though so I get it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wait all you want, knock yourself out. Hamilton already beat Alonso. Alonso already placed Hamilton above himself when named his best 5 of all time. For me Hamilton has nothing else to prove. I'm shifting my attention to future stars Max, Leclerc, maybe Norris.
LOL- lucky driver I needed a laugh today. What is vettel then? Mika hakkinen? DAMON freaking HILL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Are u? U still talk about it U got hold down the fort till William comes back from his suspension at least Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And if Alonso had received equal treatment at Team Hamilton EG no tyre pressure tampering etc etc Uncle Ron was Hamilton's mentor. They even had a private side bet on the WDC outcome
I am not a FA fan, but if you can find one F1 driver or commentator from the last 10 years who thinks Alonso was “Just average“ PM me you PayPal details and I’ll send you 5 bucks.
So what? Piquet was already 40 years old and, most importantly, admitted after retiring that his 1987 Tamburello crash messed up with his brain and he was never fast as he was before it.
I don't disagree. But the context is Piquet had spent much time at Benetton and was bedded in with engineers and car. Schumacher was a newbie.
What you don't agree with Piquet? He said that after the crash he never recovered his visual accuracy and became at least 0,5s slower. He hid it from the teams because he wanted to make money before he retired.
Read my post. I said "I don't disagree" Subsequently it was Ross Brawn who stated that Michael made up the defecit in car performance when compared to the Williams which was almost 1 second faster than the Benetton.
Why keep Elton? Do you have ANY IDEA how much prestige and endorsements e generates? And anyway, he practically guarantees them the WDC every year. F1 teams like that. With a lesser driver such as Bottas, Max could win at RB.
Yes, this is true. Lewis is probably the only F1 driver that's a ''superstar'' as in one with celebrity status. The rest are just known to F1 nerds. Exceptions made for some drivers being known in their home country, again some more than others. I'm sure every German will know the name Vettel. Verstappen name is EVERYWHERE in the netherlands, but local stardom doesn't really count. Seriously, who knows Nico Rosberg outside of racing circles? Hell, I'm sure people have forgotten he managed to win a title. Worse still, he doesn't have a connection with any particular country, so even local stardom doesn't work for him. Bottas could win the title in that car, so long he had a competent #2 driver.
Are u kidding? Grosjean is now on TMZ and an intl superstar Joke aside Jean Alesi was like GOD in Japan ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes!! We don’t have much to celebrate in France these days so we will take Gasly’s win, grosjean’s Miracle as achievements Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alesi presumably because he dated/married a Japanese lady though, right? I remember Schumacher saying he loved going to the States because no one had a clue who he was! And that was at the height of his career, 5th or 6th title...
