So in summary I say they give the seat to Alonso or Rosberg :p
For sure in Q you really do need to know the car up close. Alonso could certainly upset the apple cart, Nico am not so sure.
With both championships in the bag Mercedes is likely to go for a safe bet who will best protect their secrets. For this reason most any driver (George Russell excluded) who will race for another team next year will get the ride. I mention GR because he has a lot of team knowledge already and it opens the door for a paying driver at Williams for one race to help line their pockets some. On a secondary note I'll go out on a limb and question if Hamilton indeed has COVID. There are a lot of marketing upsides to this end of season news and I am not ruling out that there are other things at play.
Well my take has been clear . Lewis is the best or very close to and has the best car. Given an average driver the best car always has a chance to win or be WC. Take Damon Hill in 94 almost won it, won it in 96. 94 as well Nigel mansel out of rythm won the last race in Adelaide. Modern F1 are a bit complex and we seen it with hulkenberg, it takes one race or two to get up to par. I don’t expect Lewis sub to be better than q3 -10-12th place in qualifying. After 2 race sure. That’s my take. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He could also be considering retiring from the sport and doesn't want to deal with the media circus with such an announcement.
That’s a conspiracy theory of some sort. For sure he has covid, and that’s that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Obviously Hamilton has been not following Covid protocol and has risked the lives of every person in F1, and in every country he has visited. Therefore he should be not given the Driver's title as retribution for his extreme carelessness. How dare he. Troll on!
Watch F1 delay the race just for Hamilton to be in it just like the NFL keeps delaying the Ravens game!
Unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis and Toto have already ruled him out. That way there's no risk of Hulk smashing Bottas
