Chatting with another Fchatter, he and I both said the same thing; “what’s up with all the fakes lately?”I don’t think there has been 3 fakes posted in this thread in the past year and yet there has been 3 in the last 3 pages.
Have my Daytona (116520) with me at our cabin and wore it around this afternoon. DLC/PVD done by Black-Out Concept in Geneva, in 2012, before Rolex made their own black versions. Not sure whether to post this as, while real, it’s been modified. Purists won’t like that. But I love it and wear it a lot!
I’ve seen a couple of those in real life. Interesting. Not that my opinion matters but I think if you modify a piece to make it something you like more power to you. Some won’t like it? Who cares? I think the problem starts when someone knowingly represents a piece as genuine, or misleads the unknowing, when they know it is a fake
I agree. I did it because I had a preference for black watches then. I still kind of do, though I now own more “silver” colored (stainless, white gold) watches than I did then. It’s definitely genuine. I once wore it in one of the big Rolex dealers in Las Vegas (Bellagio? the Wynn? Can’t remember!). After they scolded me for the heresy of “ruining” a stainless Daytona, they asked me to hand it to them so they could look at it more closely. The whole staff and manager ended up taking turns trying it on and quietly commenting that Rolex really needed to offer a piece like it. They thought they’d sell tons of them. Rolex was clearly aware they needed more options. A few years later they introduced the new models with colored and ceramic bezels.
Old pic, but brought this one out today... Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
New 41mm, though most won't see the difference unless side by side with a 40mm. Basic, but iconic style IMHO. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice SD! I've been asking my AD for a Blue/SS like yours for more than a year. They are still selling for a heck of a premium on the secondary market!
Happy Sunday everyone, enjoying the sun here in New York, there is a gale warning for tomorrow! Image Unavailable, Please Login

I've been a client of my Rolex & Patek AD for many years and he takes great care of me with selling me my watches at retail price. Cheers
Thanks. The sunburst is amazing, and like your dial is discontinued now. Glad I picked up from trusted grey a while back as the prices have soared on these. Was a bit hard to find even in production though. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
