I find it is great fun to enjoy family with the cars! My 18 month old shakes when in excitement when I open the garage. And what a great place to enjoy a Ferrari. Every year when I'm on the big island I dream of having one with me on those perfect roads!
Wow!!! Huge congrats, was waiting for your reveal. I love how subtly unique the spec is, and that we got a TM spec Pista on the islands. I miss home every day, but having the Fcars on the mainland has spoiled me. Hope to see her cruising around next time I'm in town, I think I've caught you going up Diamond Head Rd in the old black 488. Enjoy in good health
Great write up and nice to read the background story on the decision making process Enjoy your beautiful Pista!!
WOW!!!!! Congratulations on a beautiful spec and dream realized! Bravo!! Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Thanks man I appreciate sharing the stoke. I'm definitely a little envious of your beautiful tdf and all the roads you have available to enjoy on the mainland, but it's not a bad life here in the middle of the Pacific. If you see a red car going 5mph up Diamond Head Road stuck behind tourists on rental bicycles, be sure to give shout. Many thanks. I feel fortunate being able to share the experience. Thanks so much Definitely a dream realized, well put. Thank you! All I need now is 12 more cylinders... Right? She's the best. Super supportive and creative. I'm a lucky guy in more ways than one. Cheers!
Love the yellow seats. Mad Max has nothing on you. The wee lad comment seals the deal for me. Wish you all the best. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Compared to the secure garage where she lives? No. This is against the side of a steep ridge and rocks have been known to roll. I wouldn't want her to live there but on a rainy day it's a perfect pit stop.
I’ve finally crossed the break-in 600 miles and have logged a couple hundred miles with opportunities for WOT and the capristo valve controller installed. I can only enthusiastically endorse all the previously spilled ink accolades. Wow. What a car. Truly next level compared to my now-sold 488 gtb. Acceleration is faster while feeling more planted, especially on the uneven junk tarmac so often found here. The car feels much more capable, and rewards the driver by becoming much happier being let off leash. I was always impressed by how daily usable the 488 was, which I took advantage of by putting ~15k miles on her. If usability/performance is a spectrum, the pista just shifts it waaay to the performance side of things. One can still comfortably toddle along in traffic, in which case having the valve control set to default closed at low RPMs is welcome, but I wouldn’t want to make it a habit. The racing seat w peccary is superb fit, finish and comfort. I’m quite enamored of the material. The rosso tornado is, to my humble eyes, stunningly rich and deep, especially in sunlight. It photographs well enough but in the tin the triple- layer shines. After every drive, I feel so stoked to have enjoyed the opportunity. It’s truly an amazing automobile. LOL, first thing that caught my eye was the signature looks of the Hawaiian mountains, then the police confirmed it.
