I do get your point. Above I made the statement: "Not sure why that has anything to do with the F40 though. Most anything 'clashes' with an F40 which I think was the goal of its design." So we made the same point. I was responding to your comment that the comparison cars were of 'lesser performance'. I see now you might have been referring to the class of cars and not the one-to-one performance comparison; however, I still love to point out how fast the F12 is even compared to the 599GTO! They are all great Ferraris.
The 599 GTO never overly enthralled me until I tracked it. Tracking it really brings out the beast and reminds me of the brutality of the FXX. The 599XX is a bear to drive fast compared to the mid engine XX cars. So much harder to corner at high speed. I think the F12 TdF is a great car. So whilst I prefer to keep my 599 GTOs, if I were to only keep a TDF or a 599GTO, I’d keep the TdF.
I'm more of a 599 GTO & F12 TDF Combo and a F40 & 288 GTO combo. But then again, some may say those match ups are too similar.
