Here you are a development engine of the 288 GTO, with "F105B" on the crankcase: I remember that the F105A was the 308 QV engine (1982) and the F105C was the 328 engine (1985).
There is another one for sale in Italy, always with "F105" impressed in the crankcase. Only development engines, probably "test room only", but they show where the 288 GTO engine comes from.

This is how story was: I don't want to revise the story, but just tell what it was.

Just because cars from the same factory naturally share some components economic reasons including the crankshaft does not mean they are remotely the same, there are literally hundreds of examples in the car world from Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Just because cars share the same DGM does not mean they are remotely the same, for example, Ferrari should have had a separate DGM for the 250 GTO relative to the 250 Lusso or the 250 GT Cabriolet, these cars are not remotely the same but for economic reasons they share the same DGM.

Just because cars have a different DGM does not mean they are materially different, do you really expect anyone to believe that there is more difference between the 308s than there is between the 308 and the 288? You should know that the open-top GTS required a separate DGM because it was not a Berlinetta.

In fact this just underscores the point I'm making, there were clearly economic reasons of the day why vastly different cars like the 308 and 288 DGMs were shared or otherwise. Trying to make anyone belive that Ferrari SpA did things methodically, logically or even ethically in the 70s and 80s is futile. Marcel's posting of the list proves that your theory doesn't hold water - as usual.

If your interpretation of history is to simply read the transcripts and deduce your 'story', our just listening to someone's flawed recollection of events and believing they are correct as you did with GTO 47649, then you're missing the essence of being a diligent historian.

Besides your clearly established modus operandi of attempting to re-write Ferrari history according to your own perspective based on your agenda, we know the motivation of your assertions that the 308 and the 288 GTO are the same is simply because you are a 308 owner. I'm utterly confident that if you owned a 288 GTO, you'd be singing a different tune!

Yes, you did indeed make a number of glaring mistakes about 288 GTO 47649, you first tried to make us believe that Ferrari SpA painted this car yellow from the start which is completely false, then backtracked on that assertion and proclaimed an ownership tenure which was wrong, in fact you couldn't substantiate any of your claims, thankfully there are summarized for posterity here https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/146111482/

Review number 1of your flawed 'story' about 47649 is here https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/146111596/

Review number 2 of your flawed 'story' about 47649 is here https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/146112572/

Review number 3 of your postings about 47649 is here https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/146113005/

Allow me to post Marcel Massini's period Imola image of 47649 to serve as a beautiful yellow reminder of your not inconsiderable storytelling abilities (whenever I think of you I think of this car), will you at least agree that the GTO in this image has just a single door mirror?

In my opinion that's not the way you should answer and talk with another Fchat member that only exposes some facts: this does you no honor.

I beg to differ, my posts are honorable, they are also self-explanatory and an accurate review of material which you yourself have brought to this thread in the past, to give your more recent ones some perspective. There's even some humor added at the end of my last one to keep it light-hearted, I wouldn't change anything.

Correct me if Im wrong but I think Marcel means the 800kms were covered by Jean Blaton in the first 6 months of the cars life?

Yes, that is what I am saying. First private owner Blaton did 800 kms and then after six months sold the car.

Great vintage stuff: GTO content starts at 17:45
The film starts with an Enzo Ferrari interview alternated with a video about the F1 126 C4.
