    Dear all,

We didn’t buy Ferraris to win races but I did participate in an 1/3 mile roll race event on a closed track. My novitec tuned straight piped 488 spider had consistent results, which was about 149 mph. In comparison friend’s 570s coupe beat me by a hair in every race, consistently.

There was an underground racing Huracan that did 220 mph in 1/3 mile that day.

Had a ton of fun and really impressed by mclarens ( I used to have a 650 s spider) 720s stock were 160 mph and friend’s stage 2 720s broke 170 mph.

Sounds like fun! McLaren 570 has 562Hp and your car stock has 100hp more. Either the 488 weighs a ton more than the 570 or the 570 has more hp than advertised. Maybe both are true they sure are fast cars.

Wondering how efficient these aftermarket tunes really are then. That doesn't make sense.

My 570s was barley faster than a 580-2 huracan..:something is not right..you may have lost power w the tune/straight pipe?

Believe spider weighs about 400 lbs more than the 570.

I don't want to get into a debate on which car is faster, am happy that my car puts down consistent numbers, no check engine light, and no error codes. I feel that the piggy back tune is working, but in a very OEM, gradual way. My friend's stock 570s ran 10.275 @135mph stock at ATCO raceway in new jersey, if i had to guess what the 488 spider can do, i would guess high 10's stock. And based on my limited research (googling the internet), 570s appears to be about 1 second faster than 488 GTS 0-140.

Do you have any 100-200 km/h or 60-130 mph times?

That makes no sense. 10.2-10.3 is where a 720S consistently sits. And those 720 PS are a pretty conservative number. No way a stock 570 runs as faster time than a Pista. I've seen a 720S on the dyno this summer and let's just say that stock number was very healthy.

You running 750 hp and not even keeping up with a 570. The physics don't back it up.

Glad you had a great time though.

Atco, is one of the best prepped and fastest tracks in the country. A good, consistent driver will always be faster there. I have raced there for years. Was this at the slipstream event at pocono? I have seen the 570 pull on the 488 before at tracks and in Mexico. With a tune you should be pulling him, was he definitely stock?

The same driver broke into the 9’s in his stock 720s. Yes that track is fast. I have done 10.6 on the same track in a custom tuned 991 turbo s cab stage 2.

Yes it is the same event ( now called racemotive). I know the owner of the 570s well, the car was a press car with the track package but supposedly bone stock. The dealer thinks there is a chance that car is a freak or have some factory tune on it..

There's a very good chance a press car is different. Would be interesting to see on a dyno. McLaren underrate their cars in general, so no telling what they might do to a press car.
