I need a contact for a real panel pounder and not a mud wiper. I found a surprise on the hood of my E Type when it came back from the media blaster.

Not a terrible issue but way beyond my skill level.

    thanks

You say a surprise - were the pieces damaged from handling,or did the blaster just uncover some prior mudwork?
More importantly, how is the access to the backside? I can't remember, last time I worked on an E-type was 40 years ago. That lower valance looks like typical parking stop damage, actually pretty clean!

The back was painted black and as thick as the mud was it looked well on the top.

I am sure there are a few other minor high low spots on the hood.

The back is as accessible as the front. All disassembled. There are a few more curb bumps on the other side and the prior mud guy drilled a few holes.

Feel free to PM me and we can chat if you have a lead or are Interested.

the rest of the structure under the Sheetmetal was straight so don’t think anything major caused this. No rust and no apparent tears on the metal.

    Dan,
Just wanted you to expound on the details as you did so someone else with some good leads will chime in. I have worked with a handful of guys over the years who could do that for you, but like me, they are now old retired farts.
Surely you will get suggestions for the usual shops the F-guys use (Calder FastCars, etc.). They are out there, just a matter of getting connected with them.

Thanks for this. I believe I found a guy in Santa Clarita. He is 68.

this is one skill I wish I picked up from my grandfather. He would have been 97 so yeah definitely an older crowd.

Ha! I worked in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys as well as the Los Angeles west side as a bodyman years ago. I will turn 68 this month. I probably know the guy if he's from around there.

I have recently been told by two different people about LA Workshop 5001.

I'm not sure what projects they accept. Here is the link: https://workshop5001.com/
