    A HUGE one...have you looked at brokers??

    While the ocean going big cats are the coolest, to me they bear the risk of a full turtle, without righting.
    You can roll a pretty big keeled boat and still come up to see out the windows...the masts and rigging will be gone, but your batteries and radio will be right side up.

    You want new enough to be fibreglass, I would avoid wood, but I think they bought the Elissa for $60K?

    With a slightly larger budget, I would look for a well kept Hinckley Bermuda 40 with shoal draft and swing keel.
    Classic Bill Tripp design and while I say never invest in a boat, you won't get hurt, enjoy for a few years and sell it for almost what you paid.

    Better on the budget and a bit smaller is the Hinckley Pilot 35, another classic design.
