Tuna and salmon sashimi with chopped scallop, Philadelphia and California rolls. Didn't snap a pic, ate in the truck and it was dark.

I was at the store and decided I needed something easy and quick for the occasional snack. And it sounded good enough. Lol

When Costco has the big box of them for sale, I usually get a box for the freezer for a quick snack or midnight munchies.
I have taken to doctoring them up sometimes. Extra Virgin Olive oil drizzled on top with some fresh oregano make them
very good. And when you have the megabox of them, it provides a change from the standard version.

    Ha! I do the same!

They ended up being lunch and dinner so I only have 13 left out of 44 or something like that.

Last weekend we went to a local Volunteer Fire Department bbq. Small town of Tioga. Brisket wasn't great, but the jalapeño & cheese sausage were very good.

Flammkuchen. Wewalka dough. Ricotta cheese base. Caramelized red onions. Bacon. Veggie sausage, since we were short bacon. Garlic powder. Ground pepper. Into the oven at 450 F for about 12 - 15 min.

Cucuzza lasagna. Sliced cucuzza. Ricotta, mozz, parmesan, Kroger meatballs. Layered. Bake at 365 F until bubbly and cucuzza is soft.

Udon noodles. A quick skim of the ingredients list suggests that this a lot saltier than I would like. So, I threw away their spice and broth packs. Added in my pho beef broth. Spiced it up with some pequin peppers from the garden that I had dried, grated carrots, sliced green onion. Poured hot broth over, let it sit about 3 or so min, covered. Microwave for 3 min. Let sit covered. Eat.

Tom, those udon noodles look like something I should buy my dad. I do my parents shopping due to the virus. Trying to buy stuff he can microwave......................

Was going to make beef dip at home. I ran out of coke and don't feel like going into a store or cooking. So I ordered a beef taco pizza and 2l coke for delivery. Should be here soon. File pic:

Thanks. Interspersed with a few salads here and there to balance things out. I don't know why, but I always seem to get the munchies when the weather first cools off. Maybe it's a vestige of when cavemen had to put on a layer of fat for the winter!

    File pic?!?

Udon was tasty, Max, but depending on your dad's diet, I'd be careful since they are very high in sodium of he mixes in the two packets. One was a liquid, soy based if I had to guess based on the color. Other thing seem like it was a solid flavor packet - salt, MSG,...

When my mother in law got to the age that she didn't want to cook, and we didn't trust her to use the stove, we bought her Healthy Choice microwavable dinners for those times we weren't home to cook for her. If you hunt around, you can find a few that are somewhat reasonable in sodium content. We got them at Kroger. Depending on how picky your dad us, should be able to find a flavor or two he might like.

Yummy. Where'd you go in the Lake Como region? Stay in one island or visit a few? We did a one day tour when we were in Milan. Had lunch in Bellagio, water front restaurant. Couldn't tell you what we ate, but everything was great - simple, quality ingredients, prepared with a minimum of fuss.

Besciamella. That's a new one for me. We're Siciliano, I don't recall my grandmother ever making anything other than tomato based sauces...T

My cousin lives in Como. Spent a few days with them when we went to Villa d’Este before I specced my 812. Don’t really remember Tom, ate mainly with him/them and a couple-three local restaurants he knows. Do remember a one of their known dishes- fantastic risotto mounted with the local cheese and a (local) fish filet on top.

Truthfully whenever I eat at any restaurant in Italy it is nearly always for lunch - dinners are usually with my family. I always eat the same thing: pizza margarita and carpaccio.

    OK, cool. Thank you.
There seem to be quite a few varieties of fish sauce on that site. Any recommendations?

Edit - I saw one video that claimed Three Crabs was also very good. Thoughts?

If I use soy sauce in a marinade, I almost always use fish sauce.
