The Brabham BT6 FJs are an interesting model to follow up on. There are a number of chassis that claim to be a Hulme car including one in Melbourne which is incorrect . My understanding is the Hulme car raced in 1963 is FJ-9-63 which ended up in Australia with Alec Mildren team fitted then with a Ford twin-cam. The Australian history of this fine model includes ...Greg Cusack as an owner of a chassis in Australia. Hulme did race once FJ-1-63 this was to become a car raced by Roy James (great train robber member) Other people to own or race this model include Frank Williams, Betty Haig ,Graham McRae, G.Lawrence , Paul Hawkins and Mike Hailwood ect. Once their time had been served in FJ many were converted to Ford Twin cam motors ie F2, . The formula junior series in Europe is one of the great race series now ,racing at all the great tracks of Europe and the UK. For anyone wanting to race an open wheel car a Brabham with a Twin cam IMO is about as good as it gets without getting serious with a team of helpers.
Would anybody be excited about a Hyundai Kona? Asking for a friend. Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
The particular car I mentioned was the ex Hulme with full documented history, it now resides back in the UK and has been converted back to Formula Junior spec.
