I dont understand the LB, how is this going to replace the Pista or F8? Will it cost much less? What makes it special enough to buy over the prior models?

I would be surprised in LB does not end up with 750+ bhp (ICE + Batteries), so 200-250 less than the SF90, but more than the F8 it replaces. Less weight than the SF90 as hybrid assistance to the rear wheels only and thus luggage space back – for those of us that want some! I expect better traction at the rear to get it off the line faster like the SF90.

So LB is a reasonable step up from the F8 whilst not cannibalising SF90 sales and likely 25K more than the F8 it replaces. The SF90 is a new market segment for Ferrari (500K Hypercar), LB is the replacement for their F8 supercar.

The alternative approach is to use the hybrid to just fill in the gaps in the torque curve of the new v6 whilst offering far faster low end acceleration and traction.

I should think Ferrari will "tune" their approach depending on the success of the SF90, that is one of the advantages/flexibilities of battery power.

I'd still take an F8 or Pista or something from another mnfr. I'm more curious as to what comes after these models. Other than the GTS there isn't anything interesting from Ferrari for me on the horizon.

With Europe and UK looking to ban the ICE you can only see SF90 and the LB as stepping stones to full electric, perhaps hydrogen or some amazing new ICE that has captures its own emissions and no noise!

Who knew that those Scalextric car sets we had as kids were the forbearer of the cars we are going to offered to drive for real, perhaps even with the "slot" in place with ADAS and other nannies controlling our steering, breaking, direction, ...

According to rumors, the V6 ICE itself should be around F8 power. Plus the electric motor on top of that figure.

Not meant to replace Pista. Its a replacement for the F8 . Dare say it will be priced over the F8 and closer to a Pista. SF90 will then go higher in price.

    Entry Ferrari will be Roma.

Well people have bought the SF90 so they believe it special enough to buy over the 488 ( doubt any F8 purchasers ) and Pista owners.

Is a LB V6 hybrid worth over the 488 GTB or F8 ??? IMO NEVER . Its going down. I cannot imagine ANY styling that would ever convince me to go DOWN to a V6 no matter what and to go hybrid OMG with all the electrical issues that Ferrari has . Same goes with the SF90.

FWIW either the Covid has strangled sales of F8 down here, or there wasn't much interest, but all time highs of 488 GTB's/ Spiders for sale of over 35 have gone down to 8. Our State dealer hasn't had one for sale for months.

Replacement for the LA FERRARI that's all unless you like several people I've heard making their one of cars. All other manufacturers will all follow the same route. For what ever reason Ferrari is the one making the first moves.:(

I think McLaren already announced the replacement for the 720S will be a V6 hybrid.

Yes they have but they are throwing in another model before that the 765LT which there are several members thinking that is the way to go over their Pista's.

Frankly because of the 765LT Ferrari not that they give a rats should put out a F8 VS , having settings like the Pista BUT hell put in the 4 liter engine of the SF90 and bring it closer to 780 Hp no electric.

That would make sense indeed, just as the F8 could be seen as an answer to the 720S...

How did a 458 replace the 430? It just did. This will be their mid engined super car. It will be out perform the old ones. Some won't buy and stick with the V8's. Some newer buyers won't care. One day down the road they'll release the Pista version of the LB and I'm sure it will be crazy.

With Ferrari each iteration has been better in some way than its predecessor although IMO just about every mid engine V8 is a looker. Performance improves as well. We are now at a point where you can go 0 to 100mph in under 5 seconds in a rear wheel drive car. If you get there in 4.7 seconds but its heavy, sounds like crap and ugly who cares? The power is unusable even on most tracks, there is nowhere to exploit it. This is where we are today. I guess we can sit back and watch and see how it all plays out. I will have a Pista and a 765 so not sure how interesting LB or BB will be for me. I might be one of those guys that goes back for an F40 down the road.

I'm expecting the 765LT to be sort of an "affordable" performance bench mark. 0-100 mph under 5 seconds, like you said, but also light, great handling, V8, looks killer. I don't even pay attention to the Kseggs, Paganis, Bugattis and the like. The 765 could be a real keeper. I hope, anyhow.

If I recall what the dealer said correctly, the v6H is for the 570 replacement.

McLaren has one engine that they use across their platform. So it might start as the 570 replacement but its a safe bet that they will turn up the wick and use the same engine for the 720s replacement too and then the Senna replacement and then the P1 replacement and so on.
