I believe Mercedes thinks more about what is best for them. And they need a new star if they are staying in the sport past this year.
Why indeed ? Verstappen is a repeat offender who hasn't learnt. This time, he should be suspended for one or several races.
Hurty words are not a reason to be suspended from races. Start doing that and F1 is sliding down a very slippery slope indeed. Because where will you draw the line? Something that offends you, may not offend someone else. Eventually the bar will be set so low it'll be a virtual minefield of getting the pronouns correct just to speak frankly to anyone, or risk bans. Frankly, people need to grow a thicker skin.

Man, grow up. In the past, he may have been suspended for unfair driving. To suspend a driver for cursing a little is childish. Couple of decades ago, Nelson Piquet would have gotten out of the car and smash the face of the other driver. Those were the days.
Many things that happened in the past aren't tolerated today; that's how we make progress. There is a difference between cursing and making derogatory and racist comments.
Whatever happened to sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me? That was taught to us as young children. Perhaps the world needs to start teaching children basic life lessons again.
Max has a lot of options to choose from to “vent”. Poor choice of words and his temper are nothing new. In his worldwide visibility how you speak and word choice matter. Not the best brand ambassador currently
As noted in the article I posted, team owners and series officials fire poorly spoken drivers even today. Employees normally have standards enforced by management. Certainly not news in a public series as F1.
Mods are not glued to every post 24-7 Users can hit the report button in threads that discuss P&R material outside of that dedicated forum to notify mods of a potential issue. Start a thread in that dedicated section for any F1 news or topics that contain P&R. Don’t add P&R material to any threads in the F1 section. Thanks for the understanding. If a driver happens to say something or do something political or that would be considered racist or you feel strongly in the opposite direction, feel free to discuss in P&R. This should be a simple concept. 1 day site ban for jgonzalesm6 and DF1 for breaking that no tolerance policy. Robb
ehh, no offence but our friend jgonzalesm6 is quite generous in delivering relevant F1 info and I never noticed any P&R material of him. Might skipped some posts but quite harsh to ban him. Ciao Oscar
No offense taken. I’m sure most of the info is relevant but it has to be discussed in the correct area to avoid dumpster fires in normal discussion areas. There has been a problem with the F1 group that will continue to be addressed until members can follow the rules. Simple fact is linking any P&R news outside of that forum will get a ban for a day or more regardless of how important it is to F1 discussion.
