I can tell from your post you are not pompous nor arrogant. At a C&C your actions speak louder than your clothes. Answer all questions about your car (even ones that may seem silly, some people know nothing about a Ferrari) and invite really interested kids to have a seat and get their photo taken. Do that and nobody will care even if you're naked. :D

You buy Ferrari clothes, hats etc because they are the luxury items of the wealthy. The item projects that very life style. You wanna be a hotshot? You gotta have the hotshot car. Wanna show you have that hotshot car? You buy the clothes.

Why are the ignition keys for a Ferrari so large and in your face? Because when you throw them on the restuarant table people will see you own a Ferrari. It's all dick swinging.

I have a few Ferrari hats, but they are all covered in grease and grime from the damn Ferraris I work on. They are car people..that's it. They are not religious items. They are man made junk that will fade away like everything else.

If you’re a fan of the scuderia it’s like buying a jersey for your favorite NFL team. I wear Ferrari red on race day

To me it all.depends on the individual, I'm sure the picture you painted is very true for some Ferrari owners, thankfully more often then not, I've meet very humble owners that love the cars and ethos. As many have said, no different then a die hard Lakers fan that wears various paraphernalia on the daily.

To me the judgment call on their character all depends on how they interact with me and others. Not the shirt or hat they are wearing.*

*I take that back, I guess if somebody was wearing a shirt that said "FU and your whole family.."

I’m a European lived in the states past 30 years , We support from childhood two teams Soccer in my case Chelsea and F1 team Scuderia Ferrari, watching on the tv at the weekend I wear my Chelsea shirt, Sunday’s my Scuderia shirt and she’s fine with it,
If I tried to walk out of the house with one on she would have a fit. Then again I’m in my 70’s.
Just try and enjoy these difficult times and stay safe..

About 7 or 8 years ago I was on a United flight sitting in first class wearing a sweater with a small SF shield on it.
A male flight attendant approached me and asked whether I own the car that "goes with the sweater".
When I replied with the words "yes I have a 2005 Maranello", he nodded and walked away never to speak again.
    I still wear my sweater.

As I said, not my aesthetic by any means, but as long as neither is harming others or acting like a jerk, doesn't bother me.

Frankly, part of why I love Ferrari is the passion it elicits. So when folks go out of their way to go "all in" so to speak - I actually enjoy it. Some just love the marque.

Again, as long as they are not behaving inappropriately, I say "you be you."

I own a 2013 Fiat 500 Sport, vanity plates "LaFiat" and a truckload of various SF F1 merch. Is it over the top? Sure, but I'll never be able to own a Ferrari the way my life is going and I bleed Rosso Scuderia on Sundays, so for me it's my passion and worth every penny. I used to think that wearing Ferrari clothes was a bit over the top, but now I don't care, and enjoy my stuff--the shoes made by Puma--are very comfortable .
