You've put a lot of thought into that. My friend Mike is the Firebird encyclopedia. You and he could talk all night. I'd just listen and sip on beer.
Once, while sitting on the back porch relaxing, I asked my father what he was thinking and he responded, "not a thought in my head." I don't know what that's like. Consequently, I am constantly building cars, coming up with story ideas, doing renovations in my house, wondering what might happen "if," people watching, considering the implications of different political events, world events, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseam. Currently, running around in my otherwise empty little skull, I have several car builds. My "442" project, the things I want to do to my E34 540i/6, how I want to finish my Jeep Grand Wagoneer (including a totally revised dash), that Firebird, a Buick Riviera based on the Third Generation F-Body, and a Cadillac Sports Car based on the '66-'67 Chevy Nova, with a stretched front end, and a Second Generation Corvair roof. And we haven't even gotten to the garage stuff floating around in there. Maybe I should have done drugs as a kid...
Daily driver: Either a Lotus Evora 400 with six speed manual in blue with black accents or Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS in Aqua Blue with silver graphics, just can't decide. Weekend toys: Porsche Carrera GT in black and Ferrari F40 in red. If you ask tomorrow, I'll probably name three different cars.
Thread resurrection but can't resist... will attempt to list things I can have someday vs those which will likely be forever out of reach... and because I actually struggle with this today since I have a 3 car garage 1. F430 Spider Manual (traded for my current 360 spider manual when $100k doesn't mean anything to me anymore...) 2. 812 GTS or Rolls Royce Dawn (currently a Bentley) 3. has to be rotating for fun / stupid everyman cars to drive in the winter (yeah not a great time to drive most of them). Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Jeep 392, Ram TRX, Mustang GT350, Camaro ZL1, Corvette C8, etc...
Real life: '90 Testarossa, '16 M235i convertible, '16 Forester Fantasy: '58 250 Testa Rossa, '84 288 GTO, '18 Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet I'd go from one open top to two open top vehicles
Mine continues to evolve. Right now I have a 2018 SWB SuperCab Raptor and a 2000 360 Modena manual (Recently sold my '80 308 GTSi). I think I want a 456M manual to complete the trifecta, but the right 612 might fill that spot too.
The three popping into my mind at the moment are: Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic F40 360CS *Subject to change moments from now. Also, I'm relying on the precedent set in this thread that other more useful vehicles might reside outside the garage. For me, that might be a Range Rover for cargo and passenger space. Somewhat more realistic replacement for the Bugatti would be a Wraith.
This would be tough but if we are only talking about actual road going cars (not race cars)-- 1938 Alfa Romeo 8c 2900B Mille Miglia (because you have to have one pre-war car and it should be Italian, red, beautiful and a spider) 1968 Ferrari 275GTB Nart spyder (because you have to have one Enzo era car and has to be V12, beautiful, and rare) 1998 McLaren F1 (because you have to have the most amazing / incredible manual transmission car ever made) 30-30. 60 years of automotive technology symmetric means good karma in the garage. BTW: I have about 200 "honorable mentions" including a D type Jag, Maserati A6GCS, and of course the Lambo Miura
After a bit of downsizing, and ignoring DDs, this is now my 3-car garage: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Given bottomless pockets, then maybe: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is my ultimate and current 3 car garage: 2014 Ferrari 458 Italia, 2020 Porsche 718 Spyder and 2009 Aston Martin DBS Image Unavailable, Please Login
I already have two of them: 1999 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster - Mid engine, manual transmission V12 open top ecstasy 2005 Ford GT - Beautiful styling with the heart and ferocity of a street fighter As far as a 3rd spot, I would only consider cars I can actually afford so most likely candidates are: Ferrari Scuderia 991.2 Porsche GT3 Porsche 993 Turbo Ferrari F12
