Shortly after my last epidose of fixing the leaky lift pump I noticed a sizeable a puddle in the same area of the garage floor, but atleast a different fluid this time! Apparently this is a common issue for a drip to come out of some vent hole on the bottom of the transmission. Does anybody know what the actual fix is short of installing a new transmission? Much like the lift pump im sure it is repaired with a 10 cent seal but im far from a transmission tech....
Which other vehicles use the same version of getrag transmission?

No. It works great. But I guess only until it runs out of fluid completely!

I wasn't aware of transmission leaks being a known issue. I did a lot of reading around before buying my FF and leaking transmissions didn't come up as a problem.

On a side note, has your fix for the lift pump worked?

It is not a common issue for DTC transmissions to leak any oil. If there is any oil leaking then there is a problem with the transmission. There is an internal seal leaking inside the transmission. The weep hole is there to let you know that this seal is leaking, instead of just leaking from gearbox portion into the hydraulic portion without you knowing that there is a leak. Unfortunately Ferrari/Getrag does not sell seals separately, and you have to purchase the entire housing casting/repair kit in order to get the seal. Someone with the proper training and the factory special tools will need to disassemble and replace the leaking housing/seal. Not a repair for the inexperienced.

I got it at a local joint called fluid seal that speacialize in all types of seals. I think they even have an online store, but im sure there is a similar business much closer to you.

We have a FF in that is leaking from the weep hole, pretty significantly. We have special tools and the table to remove the engine, but are unsure which seal kit to purchase for the repair. We are on Scuderia parts and see many different levels of overhauling available. Anymore information on this issue would be greatly appreciated Motob!

I am having a similar problem on my 2014 FF. I was told the leak is in the middle gearbox. Ferrari said they had to actually replace the center gearbox. My question is why cant that component be repaired instead of replaced. My car runs and driver well. The only issue is it leaks oil from the weep hole. Any help would be appreciated
I am having a very similar problem on my 2014 FF. I was told by Ferrari that my leak is coming from the center gearbox from the weep hole. The leak is pretty bad. Ferrari told me the center gearbox needed to be replaced. I would like to know if the internal problem can be repaired instead of replacing the center gearbox. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 2014 was in for leaking DCT earlier year. Failed seal inside the box.

Symptoms were a massive leak but no warning lights.

    All fixed under warranty.

Incidental finding on my car during this year's annual service after tech removed the rear under-cover. No warning lights. DCT's slow leak causing oil stain on the cover like shown by OP on post 1. Around $4800 at dealer; including gear-box kit used to replace seal and plug leak.

Has anyone found a solution to replace the seal kit rather than the whole center box? The video is from my car.

That’s exactly what happened to my box. Essentially the whole box had to be taken apart. There was a seal that had gone at the end of the box closest to the front of the car.
