"enjoying" Covid forced homestay with my new speedy. Had to get one before it gets discontinued by the end of the year. According to my AD it will be replaced by a new one with the same case and a new movement...and a higher price (around +1300 CHF).

Still working on the East Coast from home and just took a break to share my watch of the day! Such a polarizing brand based on strangers reactions (which I could care less about but 1/2 love it and the other 1/2 not so much, but I buy what I LIKE). I believe Richard Mille is using out of the box materials with the creations of his watches, while manipulating the supply and demand like Pre-IPO Ferrari's used to be! Cheers

Nice, Seiko's Japanese built watches are often underrated classics!
Fortunately they are appreciated on here.

    A pretty unique piece today.

In 1965 the Russian astronaut Alexi Leonov, the first man to walk in space, wore a Poljot/Sekonda Strela during his spacewalk. Strela means "arrow" in Russian, hence the "arrow hands"

Original Poljot’s and Sekonda’s were marked "Made in USSR" and are radioactive. The black dial versions had the 2 color arrow hands. The Sekonda dials came “high brand” meaning the name Sekonda was very close to the Telemeter ring, and “low brand”. The original Strela’s used a 3017 column wheel driven movement which is very similar to the Venus 150. BPH = 18,000.

    Mine was produced in 1972.

There are a ton of reproductions out there which are easy to identify; they are marked "made in Russia".

Been looking for one of those for a while. Not a fan of the green dial for what it’s worth.

I'm not sold on the green dial as well. Although I haven't seen the other dials so can really compare. But the 40 is a great size and the bracelet is just butter!
