I took the Dino for a drive this morning and noticed it was running low on fuel. Not wanting to go to a gas station (Covid cases are through the roof here in Manila), I had my driver (who I have report very infrequently) buy gasoline. He wore a mask and shield and didn’t have the attendant touch the fuel container. I unscrewed the fuel cap, and he came in, poured, and left. I let the garage air, sprayed sanitizer on the floor, then closed up. Too cautious? Perhaps, but I’m in the very high-risk age category.

I have flow-through ventilation in the garage (a good feature if I have another person in the garage, as this morning), if I open the sliding doors at the rear of the garage. I keep those closed usually, because this is the tropics. The small pond and forest Image Unavailable, Please Login behind would drive up humidity to over 90% RH.

Thanks, Jonny. It’s the rainy season now. I have two portable dehumidifiers, seen here, that keep humidity to 55% in the garage. Corrosion begins at 60% - dangerous to our cars.

Yes, Ken. A 1969 Elan. I’ve had it since 1977, went racing with it for some years, but since retired it and brought it back to street trim (the rose-jointed suspension and some other racing bits are still on, though).

We took the Dino out yesterday after adjusting the valves and other minor work.

133mph were easily reached. For more, the was to much traffic.

Today again a short fun trip.

Many thanks, Ken, 375+, Tony. Yes, that’s a 1948 MG TC. I’ve had it since 1994.

Your garage is always an inspiration, Andres. And no argument from me about your good taste in cars, even though I might be a bit biased when it comes to Dinos and Elans.

And, nice photo of the Elan suspended in the air.
But seeing the Elan with its prominently displayed wheel spinners reminded me that I owe you a big Thank You for a thread you started (and concluded) a few years ago, on the subject of wheel spinners! All these years, I never heard an acceptable explanation for why the spinners are left-hand threaded on one side of the car, but here I finally found a logical and scientifically sound reason - after all these years! An excellent thread, well researched.

For anyone interested in the subject, here is the link:

A crisp, pleasantly cool early Sunday morning. Stopped for a while down at the ocean, just to breathe the soothing air and listen to the complete silence around me.

Then a long drive on almost empty country roads, winding through the forest. Finally, a short high speed burst on the freeway/motorway before heading home. As always, I marveled at how well the Dino performed and how good it felt to drive it.
I love the Dino. Absolutely love it.

So, yes, I drove my Dino today. Again.

took the dino out this morning for a "virtual car show ". since our popular saturday EXOTICS@REDMONDTOWNCENTER was canceled this year the promoters opted for one event - a photo shoot of participants cars . one at a time per appointment. the plan is too make an album of the cars. hopefully next year the show will be back to normal !

Took a nice drive in the country yesterday and stopped at the track for a few laps of 'exercise'. On the way home took the long way and stopped by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum for some pics.
